Favorites Wednesday | Marvel characters

Share your own favorites with #FavoritesWednesday and tag LifeisXbox, we’re curious about your picks! On Twitter, on Facebook, and on Instagram. This week we take a look at our favorite Marvel characters in videogames. Obviously, Marvel’s Avengers comes to mind but the selection of possible Marvel games is pretty big. Here is the selection from our team, not everyone played a game with Marvel characters so not everyone had the possibility to join this week’s Favorites Wednesday. Oh, and here is our review for Marvel’s Avengers!

Kamala Khan in Marvel’s Avengers | It is one of the great things about Marvel’s Avengers, each character has a unique way of fighting. My all-time favorite is Kamala Khan, the way she can use her arms and legs to make long jumps or to avoid damage by swinging her body around is incredible. She’s a bit of a mix between spider-man and Reed Richards. Really love how the story is made around her too in Marvel’s Avengers, starting as a fangirl and ending up as one of the members of the Avengers.
Wolverine in X-men Origins: Wolverine | Jumping from a distance and landing a jump with your claws in an enemy, it is something that never gets boring. To date still one of my favorite Marvel games and also worth mentioning a fantastic movie to game. We all know how bad those can be!
Elektra in Marvel Ultimate Alliance | With over 100 characters it might be hard to choose your favorite but I really loved to play as Elektra. Fast and agile, high damage, and great costumes too. I didn’t really dig the sequel but the first Ultimate Alliance is really special for me.

Wolverine in Marvel vs Street Fighter | Weapon x in his best form, he was the perfect close-range fighter with his power and speed.
Hulk in The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction | Hulk has been cast aside as a mere supporting character in the MCU and later games, but back in the day of Ultimate Destruction, Hulk was a true bomb! Think about a GTA where you play as Hulk. It was amazing back in the day.
Spider-man in Ultimate Spider-man | Looking back at it now, the “Ultimate series” were the best Marvel characters games ever published. This was the first game of our friend of the neighborhood where we could freely walk and swing in New York (again, like a GTA).

Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine | While the game’s combat did get repetitive near the end, it’s one of the best movie-to-game translations I had played, mostly because of how fluid the combat moved and how cook it was to see Wolverine regenerate his body. We also got to fight a bad version of Deadpool, which brings me to the next one.
Deadpool |  Deadpool’s latest videogame was fantastic. From the cheeky achievements to the hilarious one-liners. The comedy alone is more than worth the cost of entry. Luckily, because the gameplay again got pretty stale near the end and I felt like I was going through the motions. Still A+ for the Maximum Effort!
Magneto in X-Men Mutant Academy 2 | This is an old game, but it’ll forever remain one of my favourite fighting games. I used to switch a lot between Gambit and Magneto, but the latter wins because, in the hands of a decent player, he had a game-breaking mix of abilities that could relentlessly juggle the enemies, leaving no opening for revenge.
