Eyes on the Weekend (January 1-2)

In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the times we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Robby (BloodyGoodReviews) | It was new year’s + the aftermath so didn’t get a lot of games in. I did spend a lot of time watching the new season of The Witcher on Netflix and I was hooked again straight away!

What little time I did have to game went to Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. The former I intend to just play through the campaign and be done with it, as I’m not the biggest fan and feel like a lot of mistakes the game makes are being forgiven (disappearing enemies & bridges, assets like vegetation loading in 10m in front of you + a repetitive objective structure) Halo also prides itself on the open world and vehicle traversal, but you can’t ride very far on this terrain.

Forza Horizon 5 on the other hands, is a treat. I intend to take my sweet time with it and just load it up for a few races each day.

Alexis | In all honesty, Xbox didn’t dominate my weekend, but Switch did. I’ve been playing Pokémon Sword non stop lately! I just can’t get over in how beautifully animated this series has become! Although I would love for them to add the original sounds of the pokémon… after this one I’ll set my visor on Pokémon Pearl, but at this moment? Sword is all that is swining here at Casa Yasutokoo!

Aaron | This weekend I decided to carry on playing through Halo Infinite. It’s been a tough battle so far as I started it on the hardest difficulty but I haven’t been swayed yet. So far I am around 50% of the way through the game & having a blasted when not BEING blasted.

Sunday was fairly quiet but I did manage to pick up Demons Souls Remake & have really enjoyed playing some of that as I am q big fan of From Software releases. Other than this though I have been adding some more touches to my new game that is almost ready for launch 🙂

Maui | Didn’t get a chance to game a lot the past weekend but I did finally restart my adventure in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I was so addicted to this game when it was released at the beginning of the pandemic but after a few months and a lot of hours in it, I kind of lost touch with it. It’s very cool to start over though, I named my new island Hellhole and can’t wait to spend many, many more hours on it. And hopefully, keep it and not restart again.

Michael | Didn’t really game this weekend!

Orange Spark | Happy New Year everyone! This weekend was characterised by the our joint lap around the sun, the festivities that brings, and the weekend lost to the aftermath of it all.

After the festivities of New Years Eve with friends, I had time on Saturday afternoon to continue my adventures in Tales of Arise, a game which our own Alexis reviewed here. It’s totally my thing, and I got up to the third realms capital by saturday evening. This in only 3 playsessions, as the first time I booted up the game I accidentally sunk in 10 hour straight.

Besides that, I also played Loop Hero on Saturday. It’s a really unique rogue-like that just makes the hours go by before you know it. I’m still busy reviewing it, but I can already say this going to be a good one. Maybe something for Maui if she ever has a moment to spare.

Sunday was spent largely lazing about in Elite Dangerous Odyssey (read about it here) and Monster Hunter World with friends as they trickeled in on Discord

Colombo | I didn’t have much internet access where I currently am, and I also have no PC or consoles here, so all I managed to play was Microsoft Solitaire Collection on my phone. Other than that, I managed to get quite a bit of money on my steam wallet by selling accumulated cards and CS:GO boxes, so I bought Inscryption and I’m still thinking about what else I want to buy before the sale ends.

Bradley Delaere | I’ve been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 for the past week, and have also been playing it the entire weekend! After a long week of grinding, I’ve finally been able to beat the game on 100%!! Just a few more golden medals and achievements in story mode, and then I’ll be able to get started with the GTA Online achievements!

On Sunday I’ve also played a little bit of Diefrosty, a review for this game is coming up!
