A new month means a fresh wave of games on the horizon, and June is shaping up to be a good one. The LifeIsXbox team has been chatting through the upcoming lineup, swapping thoughts on the trailers, previews and reveals that caught our attention. After plenty of conversation, we’ve put together our most anticipated games for June.
Here they are, listed in order of release:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Xbox Series X & Nintendo Switch 2) – June 3
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth makes a big leap this month as it finally arrives on Xbox Series X/S & Nintendo Switch 2, opening the door for a whole new wave of players to continue Cloud’s journey. Building on the foundation set by Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Rebirth expands the world, deepens the story, and pushes the adventure into bold new territory for returning fans and newcomers alike.
Voidling Bound – June 9
Voidling Bound drops you into a fast‑paced third‑person sci‑fi shooter as a Space Wrangler, commanding and evolving powerful “Voidlings” to survive the chaos. Shape their abilities through branching evolution paths, push them to new strengths, and tear through bubonic swarms and pestilent bosses while fighting to reclaim lush planets drowning in corruption.
Denshattack! – June 17
Denshattack! is a fast‑paced action‑platformer where you ride a gravity‑defying custom train and pull off flips, tricks and grinds across cities, meadows, volcanoes and oceans. You’ll take on the Miraidō corporation, face reimagined Japanese train bosses and earn respect from underground gangs as you progress from rookie to pro. Its bright, stylised visuals and colourful dystopian world give every region a distinct, energetic look that matches the game’s high‑speed flow.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales – June 18
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a new action RPG from Square Enix and Claytechworks, the team behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. Following adventurer Elliot and his fairy companion Faie, players journey across four distinct ages to complete a thousand‑year mission. Built in Square Enix’s signature HD‑2D style, it blends intuitive real‑time combat with exploration across an untamed continent, uncovering ancient ruins and the world’s mysterious history.Â
Star Fox – June 25
Star Fox returns as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, bringing back classic on‑rails and all‑range space combat with updated visuals and refined controls, including the new Mouse Mode shown in recent gameplay. Players join Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team across fast‑paced missions, cinematic dogfights and both solo and multiplayer modes built to take advantage of the Switch 2’s improved hardware.
With the LifeIsXbox team having such a wide mix of tastes, trimming the list down was anything but straightforward. Plenty of other games were brought up along the way, each with strong backing from someone on the team. These are a few titles that narrowly missed a spot in our top seven, listed in order of release:
- Hollowbody (PS5) – June 4
- Swan Song – June 4
- Gothic Remake – June 5
- Killer Bean – June 8
