Most anticipated games for 2022

2021 ended with a bang for Xbox with Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite and The Gunk. Things don’t slow down as 2022 is full with highly anticipated Xbox games. I asked a few LifeisXbox writers an impossible task, only name one game as most anticipated for 2022. The result might surprise you!

Saints Row | Crackdown 3 was totally my thing, I just loved jumping across building to find agility orbs. I’m just a sucker for the balance between realism and funny moments. Is there a better game that has that balance than Saints Row? Really looking forward to this new adventure in Stilwater.

Warhammer 40K: Dark Tide | Warhammer FANATIC! The first reveal for Dark Tide already intruiged me… a lot. A AAA game set in 40K, on the Series X? Whaaat?! The atmosphere was instantly obvious, and deep down in my bones I knew… This was going to be epic. And that feeling was nailed in even deeper when they revealed their Co Writer for the story! None other than the legendary Dan Abnett! Writer of my most beloved series in the 40K universe, Gaunts Ghosts. I can’t wait to be exploring Atoma Prime’s Hive City of Tertium!

Elden Ring | I’m not the biggest Soulslike fan, in that I haven’t played many of them. But I’ve beaten Dark Souls three times back to back a few years ago and when I got to play the network test for Elden Ring, I was sold. It does all of the soulslike things I like right and makes it slightly more approachable ( = easier) while also presenting us with a gorgeous open world to explore. I can’t wait to see the “YOU DIED” screens over and over again!

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League | I’ve been hyped for this game ever since the announcement trailer at DC FanDome in 2020. While I’m also looking forward to the new Gotham Knights, I am more keen to see the continuation of the Batman Arkham series. Batman Arkham’s most noticeable feature was it’s combat, and I’m curious as to what uniqueness Rocksteady has been able to add this time around! I’m also really looking forward to its story! Can’t wait to find out what Rocksteady has up their sleeves!

A Plague Tale: Requiem | I didn’t expect A Plague Tale: Innocence to be as good as it was and I believe many other people had the same feeling, and that means everybody’s expectations are high, including mine. I do believe it will have about the same quality Innocence had with some improvements, but they could surprise us with it being even better.
