Eyes on the Weekend (8-9 May)

In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the times we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Dae Jim | Ten hours went into Assassins Creed: Valhalla, still one of the most impressive Xbox Series X games! Another big part of my gaming time was in the world from Dargon Quest Builders 2, an incredible game with so many addictive elements. That was it, with Belgium reopening terraces I didn’t really invest a lot of time for Xbox!

Robby | I didn’t find a lot of time for gaming this weekend (again) but I did manage to finish the exclusive preview build of Midnight Protocol. A game that initially didn’t manage to grab my attention but that really won me over after I had some prolonged sit-downs with it. It really succeeds in making you feel like a hacker and telling an interesting story through chat logs and emails. I can’t wait to play the full game this summer. One to keep an eye on! (Belgian too!)Before turning in every night, I also kept playing a bit of New Pokémon Snap. It’s a pretty relaxing experience, easy to play in short bursts and simply amazing for content creation: I’ve been sharing 4 snaps per day pretty much every day since release. I can see why there was so much hype to have a new entry in the series.

Xendacine | I ventured into the steam store and found myself a whole set of Japanese games. One of these games was Devil May Cry 5, and I sure did enjoy my time spent in this game! For the remainder of the weekend, I spent my time killing people in Dead By Daylight, and watching series with the Girlfriend. Nothing all too special, but was a quality time for me!

Rafael | Not too much gaming here this weekend. As I needed to work this Saturday, I didn’t play anything on Friday night. On Saturday night I finished my time with Hitchhiker (review coming this week). Sunday was Mothers’ Day, so I spent the day with mine. At night, played some Stranglehold at Xbox 360 with a fellow TA member that requested my help (here’s to you @DrearyLightning) and this was my weekend.

Mika | I was the one pointing the Japanese sale on Steam out to Xen and bought Soulcaliber VI for a really good price. I also reviewed Beacon Pines, I really recommend reading my preview, or if you wanna yolo, just playing the Demo that is available on Steam! And I played some OW. Actually starting to like all roles now!

Vicci | There was definitely some variety in my games this week and I played a small handful. I spent my evenings playing SMITE and I’ve got to say, we had some amazingly fun games. I also got my first quadra kill which had me screaming in excitement. I created my fifth character in DC Universe Online, a villain with tank attributes and mentored by Lex Luthor. I also played two of my review games this weekend; Ladders by POWGI and Crime Opera: The Butterfly Effect. Certainly two very different games but both I’ve been enjoying. Look out for those reviews!

Maui | Finally played some more Kingdom Hearts this weekend! Still on the first one: Final Mix because I just lack the time to play it more, unfortunately. I’m still so excited to finally be playing KH after all these years! Spend the rest of my weekend playing Cozy Grove on my Switch. Also still in love with this title, and the ability to play for like half an hour to an hour every day. It makes me excited to dive into the adventure every day! I also played The Wild Case, a 2D puzzle game released last month. My review for this one is coming later today!
