Eyes on the Week(end) (15-17 July)

Time to look back on the weekend! What did Friday, Saturday, and Sunday look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from last week and what are we looking forward to? Our Eyes on the Week(end) article will answer these three questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

A single game has caught my full attention over the weekend and that game is PowerWash Simulator. The pure satisfaction it provides. I literally cannot bring myself away from it, even when I try to. There is always that ‘Oh, I’ll do one more section’ which takes over my mind and when I tell myself to have a break at a certain completion percentage, I tend to keep going until the job is done. Trust me, it was even hard to pull myself away to write this! There will definitely be plenty to write about for my upcoming review.

Most exciting news of last week: The announcement that the developers behind Warframe are currently working on a new free-to-play MMORPG, Soulframe. It’s currently in early development but I’m already majorly excited about this!

Looking forward to playing this week: PowerWash Simulator will most likely keep me addicted for the rest of this week.

I was away for the weekend to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday, but since there are quite a few games in my review backlog, I squeezed in some gaming as well for LIX! I started playing APICO on my Switch, a relaxing beekeeping sim that is really warming my heart so far! I also played some more of the Hate Free Heroes Agents of Aggro City [3D Enhanced] Early Access release. Not entirely my kind of game but enjoying it nonetheless. Then lastly, I also started playing Hell Pie on the Xbox. I was so very excited about this one since the developers teamed up with Electric Callboy, a band I like! So far I unlocked the first Electric Callboy skin and I’m loving it. Also, this is such a fun game, I cannot wait to explore it even more!

Most exciting news of last week: Nothing for me this past week!

Looking forward to playing this week: More Hell Pie and APICO!

Didn’t expect to start playing Forza Horizon 5 again, but when a MS Rewards quest asked me to start up 3 different Xbox Game Pass titles, I got hooked again and what was supposed to be 5 minutes quickly turned into 5 hours. Other than that, I’m still playing Fire Emblem: Three Hopes on the Nintendo Switch for my review, but progressing REALLY slowly. I was intending to do a 100% review, but fear that would take me well over 100 hours at this rate.

Most exciting news of last week: Not news, but a personal update: I went to Brotaru again last week and was happy to finally meet up with all the Belgian game dev again. I even gave a talk on stage on how to get noticed by the press.

Looking forward to playing this week: Hoping to receive a review copy of Endling – Extinction is forever, as that demo really captured my heart. You can see my playthrough [HERE].

Played some Legends of Kingdom Rush for an upcoming review, and it’s been pretty interesting so far. Played a bit of GTA IV as I want to finish it again and play its DLCs eventually. Played Dead by Daylight and I gotta say that I’m getting a bit hooked on it, mainly playing as The Doctor. Also played a little bit of Overwatch 2‘s Beta, it has some pretty serious issues on my Xbox One: characters being substituted by orbs of light, missing HUD, missing effects, and missing audio, it only worked fine on the first day I played it. Also got to play board games, card games, Worms Battlegrounds, and Spider-Man with a couple of friends on Sunday (one of them brought his PS4 over), and one of my friends finished Resident Evil Village on the Village of Shadows difficulty for me as I didn’t even know if I was going back to it.

Most exciting news of last week: Nothing interesting happened as far as I remember.

Looking forward to playing this week: More Legends of Kingdom Rush, Dead by Daylight, and GTA IV.
