Eyes on the Week (7th – 11th November)

Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Not been feeling the greatest this week – just a little under the weather so I only managed to play a couple of games, mostly for review. I did, however, treat myself and bought an Xbox Series S last weekend which has really opened my eyes to the differences between it and the last generation. Firstly, I played Last Days of Lazarus for a review game and it will be posted in our next Tidbits article so keep an eye out for that one. A fairly interesting story that also surprisingly got a recent title update. Next, I delved into Bones of Halloween for another review which was published on Wednesday. Nothing to write home about but I had questionable fun for the time I played. The final review game I played was Charon’s Staircase which will be online next week. An interesting little title that not only got my brain working but made me jump too. Last but not least, I’ve been continuing the grind on Dead by Daylight with Lewis. I’m currently prestige thirty with Yui and working my way through tome challenges to feed my hunger for blood points. Also aiming for the top tier in the rift/battle pass for the first time ever which is exciting; Glad to have finally got Yui’s techwear outfit too!

Most exciting news of this week: Seeing the character trailer for The Devil in Me was my highlight for the week as we look forward to the release next week; 18th November to be precise. Everything else seems to be related to the successful launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II which is fantastic to read about.

Looking forward to playing: White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, Dead by Daylight, Whispering Willows, and anything else that piques my interest.

Quickie today as I’m busy: I have one message for everyone. Go download and play Vampire Survivors on Xbox Game Pass.

Most exciting news of this week: Vampire Survivors being added to Xbox Games Pass.

Looking forward to playing: Vampire Survivors.

All of us were sick last week, but at least I got some game time in. Managed to beat The Chant in just two sittings; my review can be found [HERE] and as you can tell, despite some small remarks, I actually had a great time with it. Solid survival horror by a fresh new studio! I continued playing Bayonetta 3, but wasn’t very impressed with it. I think it’s the small screen doing it a disservice, but on the other hand: that’s the Switch’s main selling point for me…

Most exciting news of this week: The PSVR costing €599.  That’s too expensive for my taste. Also not a fan of how the US players only pay $549…

Looking forward to playing: I’m a judge in the Indie Cup Canada ’22 and have to play and review 10 Canadian games! Might publicly share my opinion on all 10 if there is an interest here 🙂

Had a long week at work but managed to play a little bit of the new Football Manager 2023, and until now I’ve really been enjoying it. But that was about it for this week. But next week the new Pokémon Violet & Scarlet are releasing and I can’t wait to play them!

Most exciting news of this week: I didn’t really follow the news this week.

Looking forward to playing: As I already mentioned I’m looking forward to the new Pokémon games. I pre-ordered both already so I can play from day 1!

This week I haven’t played much, but I did manage to play Hatup for an upcoming review, it’s a simple, short, but still, pretty fun to play platformer. I also played about 2 hours of the complete edition of  F.E.A.R. for the 1st time, I got it for free along with F.E.A.R. 2 thanks to having some credit saved up on a Brazilian website called Nuuvem (not sponsored). The first one is currently at a ridiculously low price.

Most exciting news of this week: Some details for the DMZ mode for COD, which I’m not even sure I’ll play, but I’m interested.

Looking forward to playing: If I find the time for them, I’ll play Dead by Daylight, GTA IV, and Overwatch 2, but I’ll be focusing on my review games first.

Stu

This week other than playing the games for the upcoming reviews, I have been achievement-hunting with Forza Motorsport 6 and Windjammers 2 (and playing the online mode on it as well).

Most exciting news of this week: To be honest it was 2 weeks ago but the Final Fantasy 16 trailer was great hopefully they bring it across to Xbox X/S eventually like they are with the Crisis Core Remake.

Looking forward to playing: Return to Monkey Island has been added to Xbox Games Pass so I think I’ll be hooked on that for the next few weeks.

Missi

I was under the weather this week as well so I’m behind on everything. I finished my achievement hunt in Vampire Survivors and played a bit of A little to the left; both on Steam. But at least vampire survivors is now on consoles! 😄

Most exciting news of this week: Nothing to report this week.

Looking forward to playing: Nothing to report this week.
