Review | The Childs Sight

The Survival Horror genre is something that will never go out of style. They are games that in the blink of an eye, can make you jump out of fear without knowing what happened.

Thanks to this, the people of Forever Entertainment propose The Childs Sight, a game in which our task is to survive ten nights in the skin of a baby, trying to escape from an evil doll that wants to hurt us.

We survived in The Childs Sight for about 6 hours on Xbox Series X.

What we liked!

  • Simple but complicated: The Childs Sight is a horror game that uses many aspects of the well-known “FNaF“. In this game, we will take the role of a baby that tries to survive for 10 nights, trying to “escape” from a doll that wants to try to hurt him.
  • Simple but effective mechanics: During the ten episodes or nights that the game lasts, we will have to learn various mechanics that will be added throughout the game. For example, turn off or turn on the light if the doll is nearby, closing our eyes will allow us to move forward in the day, etc. All these mechanics are simple on paper, but in practice, being such a random game, sometimes it gets a little out of hand and becomes a bit complicated, but with practice, we will be able to master them.

Somewhere between

  • Various game modes: The game features two game modes, the traditional story mode, in which we will have to survive a total of 10 nights, and the time attack mode, in which as time passes and we manage to survive, we will get more points.
  • It’s a complicated game to understand: As I said previously, the game has a good amount of mechanics that will help us throughout the game, the problem is that the game lacks a tutorial (at least I did not find any), in which it helps you to give the first steps in this game. The only help is in the game menu but at the time of action, it only serves to memorize or learn via trial/error.

What we disliked

  • A pretty decent setting but lazy animations: Although the game presents some pretty decent and beautiful graphics to look at, I personally saw glitches in some animations of the game and even in some interactions that ruin the game experience a bit. For example, the movement of the camera can sometimes be a bit slow, interactions with key objects such as light can sometimes fail but in general, the game does its job in almost every way.

CONCLUSION

65%

Even knowing the similarities it shows with games like FNaF or Boogeyman. The Childs Sight, presents its own style of play and its a game that in general lines is complicated at the beginning but once we know what to do at each moment of the game, its a very fun and terrifying title to play!
