It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week, I decided to play Koira on my Steam Deck. I’ve been meaning to play it, but as I haven’t found the Steam Deck to be something I use frequently, I just haven’t gotten around to it… until now. I also managed to write a review, which you can read [HERE] if you’re interested in my thoughts on the game. If not, just know the game is amazing, and I rated it 90/100, so it’s definitely worth looking into.
Overwatch 2 was on my radar again. The games have been very 50/50. I’ve been trying to get one of Lifeweaver’s achievements (Prevent 3 deaths using Lifeweaver’s Life Grip without dying), and although I believe I should have earned this achievement, sadly, it refused to unlock, which is a shame. I will continue to be persistent, though.
Most interesting news of this week: Borderlands 4 appears to have had a decent release on consoles, and I can’t wait to play it eventually. I just won’t spend £70+ on a new game.
Looking forward to playing: Dead Reset, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and Overwatch 2.

I just beat Kirby’s new DLC (star-crossed world) on Switch 2, and it was amazing. Fell in love all over again with the game, and the end-boss was quite challenging. Tempted to keep going for 100% on the base game too, as it seems I left it at 97% completion last time. I also included it in my recent article: Top 5 Reasons to own a Nintendo Switch 2 (in 2025)
On Xbox, I’m playing Cronos: The New Dawn and nearing the latter parts of the game. It’s difficult, but I’m having a great time with it. Check out this boss battle that took me a few tries, but eventually managed to get the Terror of the Steelworks put down quite efficiently.
And on PC, I’m playing Katanaut, a game I helped do the PR for and which even has an in-game version of me you can talk to. How awesome is that? It’s an awesome 2d action roguelite with a cool setting. People are calling it “Dead Space Cells”, and I can’t argue with that.
Most interesting news of this week: Acclaim announced its line-up of new titles. I helped them with their PR and showcase, and it was amazing how many people watched it live.
Looking forward to playing: Beating Cronos and then more Katanaut. I want all those achievements!

This week, I played a little bit of The Rogue Prince of Persia and Back to the Dawn for Xbox Game Pass quest reasons. I’m unsure if I’ll play much of the former, as it’s not entirely hooking me, but the latter has been very interesting. I plan on finishing it.
I played a bit of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s zombies mode with my girlfriend, and although we didn’t go far, it was fun. I also played a little bit of A Way Out with my girlfriend. I can’t wait to play more with her, even though I already finished it once and almost finished it again.
DE-Exit Eternal Matters was next in line. It’s feeling a lot like a PS3/Xbox 360 era adventure game, it’s really good despite its voxel graphics, which might turn some people off. I experienced a Peak session with friends, which was pretty fun, but we didn’t manage to reach the top of the last stage.
I played some more Hellclock for my next review, and it’s feeling a bit repetitive, not as fun as it first was. Finally, I played Hitman’s Le Chiffre mission to unlock a costume on the upcoming 007 game.
Most interesting news of this week: Resident Evil Requiem just dropped a new trailer.
Looking forward to playing: More Hellclock, Back to the Dawn, Deadzone Rogue, and maybe some more Peak.

I finished Whisper of the House this week. What a lovely game, and so beautiful! It was a pleasure to play through it. Cleaning and sorting out people’s houses, but with a lot of small stories going on, is a lot of fun.
I also played two shopkeeper games this week: Supercar Collection Simulator & Candy Shop Simulator. In Supercar Collection Simulator, I liked the shopkeeping gameplay but disliked the collection part. Candy Shop Simulator has a bit of a misleading name, as it is more of a bakery simulator. I enjoyed the gameplay in that one more than in the Supercar Collection simulator, but it’s not my favorite shopkeeping game.
And I played a bit of Wandness: WandCraft Survivor. I like that it does something a bit more unique. It is a bullet heaven game like Vampire Survivor, but with a map like in Slay the Spire and short levels of a minute with small quests on them.
Most interesting news of this week: There was a showcase for cozy simulation games this week. I love that this genre is gaining in popularity.
Looking forward to playing: Mars Attracts & The Knightling.

I started by completing Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, a thrilling experience with a story that continues to build momentum while offering plenty to explore and discover. My full review is available [HERE]
On the Nintendo Switch 2, I’ve been playing Drag x Drive. While the Joy-Con mouse controls work impressively well, the game itself is somewhat limited, with only a small selection of modes to explore. You can find my review [HERE]
I also wrapped up Gloomy Eyes, a beautifully eerie fairy tale set in a dark fantasy world. You can read my review [HERE]
Finally, I’ve been competing in Mario Kart World’s online knockout mode. After some intense races, my best finish so far has been 2nd place.
Most interesting news of this week: The latest Assassin’s Creed Shadows update adds a time-skip feature, raises the level cap to 100, and introduces an Ezio outfit. This update includes everything you need to prepare for the open-world RPG’s Claws of Awaji DLC expansion, releasing on September 16.
Looking forward to playing: Deadzone: Rogue, Dead Reset, Mario Kart World Online and Borderlands 4.

After having played the unfortunately disappointing Baki Hanma: Blood Arena, I decided to play some of the games I got for my birthday last week.
First, I bought Post Trauma, which is a classic fixed-camera-style horror with a lot of tricky puzzles and some very interesting lore. It isn’t without its flaws, but so far it’s a pretty enjoyable game.
Next, I started playing Cronos: The New Dawn, which my lovely partner Shari bought for me, and so far, the atmosphere and pacing are excellent. I can’t wait to see what is coming around the next corner in this unsettling title.
Finally, I got gifted a game on Steam called Trombone Champ, which, if you haven’t heard of it, is a hilarious take on the rhythm-style games… actually, look up some playthroughs of it and you will see what I mean.
Most interesting news of this week: The developers of Hellraiser: Revival want to push the rules as far as they can when it comes to the graphic content that will be contained in the game.
Looking forward to playing: Silent Hill F and completing Post Trauma and Cronos: The New Dawn.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
