It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Nexomon was my priority this week and I’m thrilled, but sad, to say I’ve finished the entire game! I had an absolute blast playing it and will be playing the next when it next goes on sale. Catching the legendaries in end game wasn’t as tedious as I thought and neither were the wardens – probably because I was 30+ Levels over Level 99. I highly recommend it if you like Pokémon and want something similar to play on Xbox!
The Gap was a game I bought recently and fancied playing. It’s all about finding and replaying memories which altogether make an interesting story with an ending which left me more than confused. Not a horrible completion once you know what you’re doing the second time around.
After watching Lewis play, I decided to restart my playthrough of Lies of P. It’s my second souls like games (First being Code Vein) which I reviewed a while back and I’ve been itching to go back to it ever since I got stuck at a boss – The Black Rabbit Brotherhood. I’m not too far in but I’m dying to know if I’ll be able to get past my personal best this time around.
In addition – Me and Lewis have continued to play Cluedo daily, I went back and got all the achievements in My Friend Peppa Pig before it leaves Xbox Games Pass on June 30th, I followed a quick guide for Detective – Minerva Case as I’d already played this with Lewis, and also cleared up some miscellaneous achievements in A Little to the Left so I’m only left with the daily tidies and DLC.
Most interesting news of this week: The Xbox Edition Meta Quest 3S VR headset. Although, I’m not interested in buying it – I’m still waiting for more news on that handheld!
Looking forward to playing: Dead by Daylight Twisted Masquerade Event and Lies of P.

I played a TON of Ruffy and the Riverside before the big release. I was the only person playtesting a consumer build on Xbox and needed to report bugs back to the developer. Still, I had fun, even when I was on my 3rd playthrough and still didn’t unlock some achievements. Super happy everyone gets to play it now that it’s out!
On Nintendo Switch 2, I’ve been playing the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, which, yes, is just a glorified tech demo they are asking money for. But it IS a nice tech demo…
On Meta Quest 3, I’ve finally started Ghost Giant, a cute game where you play, you guessed it, as a giant ghost helping a tiny cat-person. Super wholesome. You can watch the first hour of VR gameplay HERE
I’ve also been playing Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox, which we finally have now. Now I’ll finally be motivated to go for 100% because I didn’t much care for trophies, but achievements are a whole other story. You can read my review HERE
Most interesting news of this week: Ruffy and the Riverside is out now, our biggest game of the year. And Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox, woo!
Looking forward to playing: Mario Kart World.

I’m still playing Ruffy and the Riverside for my upcoming review. It’s been a creative and fun game to play, but I did encounter a few problems that I’ll explain better in my review. They may have been patched when my review is posted, though.
Other than that, I finished playing Steamworld Dig for the second time, only playing a little bit per day for my Xbox Game Pass quests, though.
Most interesting news of this week: Ruffy and the Riverside releasing and Meta’s partnership with Xbox, resulting in Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition.
Looking forward to playing: More Ruffy and the Riverside and maybe Steamworld Dig 2 for Game Pass reasons, even though I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it before it leaves Xbox Game Pass.

This week flew by, and I can’t believe it is already the end of the week!
I have mostly been playing Ruffy and the Riverside this week, which is so far my favorite game of 2025! What a gem, and how amazing it is that the copy and paste mechanic like that was implemented! I’m so impressed with this action-adventure that can be quite thinky.
I’ve also been playing Supermarket Simulator, another lovely shopkeeper game. The first 20 hours were great! Sadly, now mostly idling while working to reach shop level 99 for the last achievement.
And I started today with Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon. It reminds me of some old Game Boy games while still doing something new. I’m interested to see how this playthrough ends.
Most interesting news of this week: The Steam summer sale just started 🙂
Looking forward to playing: Continuing with Oceanshorn: Chronos Dungeon and The Alters.

I’ve continued playing The Alters this week, but my gaming time was limited last weekend due to a heatwave where I live. The humidity was unbearable at times; there’s no air conditioning here, I just have a big tower fan, which helps a little. With another two-day heatwave arriving in a few days, I’m trying to play as much as possible while also working on my review. Since it’s a survival game, I really don’t want to die, as that would mean starting over (and I’ve learned so much so far). Although if I had to restart, I would definitely make some different choices next time.
I’ve also been playing The Precinct and making steady progress. I’m finding it very nostalgic, it reminds me of games I enjoyed when I was younger. Review also coming soon.
I picked up God of Weapons, an auto-shooter action roguelike where you must ascend the Tower of Zhor to reclaim the last light for the world. While it gets quite challenging after floor 12, it’s a lot of fun. As you play, you unlock new characters such as wizards, barbarians, and many more, each with their own special weapon and ability. Each floor in the tower requires you to survive for around 45 seconds while fighting off various monsters and collecting coins needed for upgrades. Wooden barrels may also appear and contain helpful items such as health or other bonuses. One of the standout features of God of Weapons is its inventory system. After each floor, you can purchase weapons, abilities, and other items, but the catch is that you have limited storage space. Think of the inventory system in Resident Evil; it’s very similar. You can rearrange your items to try and make room for more. Each time you complete a floor, your storage capacity increases. Some of the better weapons take up much more space, so it’s been fun experimenting to find what best fits my playstyle.
Most interesting news of this week: Call of Duty’s next licensed DLC operators have been announced, and they are none other than Beavis and Butt-Head from the popular ’90s animated show created by Mike Judge.
Looking forward to playing: The Alters, The Precinct and Final Fantasy XVI.

Over the course of the week, the UK has experienced a slight heatwave, and while some may argue that it’s not particularly warm, it’s the humidity that truly affects us. In any case, gaming has been a little lacking as I try to reconstitute my melted form back into something resembling a human, but I did manage to get a few hours of gaming in.
I played the Tony Hawk’s™ Pro Skater™ 3 + 4 Foundry Demo, which was not too bad, but as someone who played the games a lot in the past, I still think 2 is the best of them all. I also played a game called Bathhouse Creatures, which I was not expecting to like, but it’s a cute wee cosy game.
Most interesting news of this week: Meta and Microsoft brought out the Xbox Edition Meta Quest 3S, which comes in Xbox Black and Green and has an Xbox controller that has a unique look just for the pack, as well as 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate so you can play Xbox games in VR.
Looking forward to playing: I’m going back through my old back catalogue and finally getting around to playing Alan Wake 2. Also, a new season of Diablo IV is coming soon so I’m looking forward to that too.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
