Eyes on the Weekend (May 15-16)

In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the times we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Dae Jim | Thierry (Cr8sh) from Xbox Gamers Belgium and me finally had some time together again. While it still isn’t the same as before Covid-times it was lovely spending some time together in some bars drinking beer. I’m a beer-lover (feel free to add me on Untappd, my name is Jim Dae) and discovered Tumeaine Ethiopia Coffee stout, a ‘few’ of those found a way into my stomach.

Anyway, on to gaming now. Most hours were spent in Valhalla’s latest add-on Wrath of the Druids, which I will be reviewing soon this week. It is a lovely experience in Dublin and more of the same gameplay that AC-lovers know and love. Besides that, I invested some hours into Final Fantasy X, thanks to Xbox Game Pass. I also have a few embargo review games, so be sure to keep an eye out on LifeisXbox this week as there’s one particular game that will be scoring high!

Robby (BloodyGoodReviews) |

I played a lot of Nanotale: the Typing Chronicles (finally!) When the game launched I had some issues related to my laptop’s screen resolution and I kept postponing the review afterwards (simply because I don’t often game on PC). I was really happy I found some time for it, as I really warmed up to it and looked past the ongoing comparisons I was drawing with Epistory, its predecessor. Review incoming soon. The rest of my time was spent in Ireland, as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s DLC, Wrath of the Druids, had me galloping over gorgeous grassy hills, fighting druids and werewolves and chasing rainbows in search of pots of gold. Very happy to have found an excuse to spend more time with this game, 135 hours and counting!

Rafael | Not too much gaming this weekend either. Played KurskAerial_Knight’s Never Yield, and Rising Hell, three of the games I’m reviewing ATM. Can’t tell much about to avoid spoilers, spoil anything. Other than gaming, I watched The Mitchells vs. the Machines and liked it a lot! A beautiful animation with a profound message behind it.

Mika | Xen finally could visit again and we played a bunch of Rocket League together on split screen. We both got placed in high silver/low gold which I am happy with since i can’t even fly consistently. We also played some Teamfight Tactics but that is really hard to get into in my opinion. So much to learn with every new patch: new characters, new buffs, new items. Just a little overwhelming.

VicciVulpix | Two games headlined my weekend – A Plague Tale: Innocence and SMITE. The first has been an experience that I’m incredibly glad to have stumbled across. It has more depth to it that I realised and I’ve found the story to be really enjoyable so far. I’m on around chapter thirteen at what feels like a crucial moment as to what will happen to everyone. Secondly, I played SMITE, and let me just say, Gilgamesh is still the most annoying God I have faced to date. The games varied over the weekend – some were great fun while others made me get just a little frustrated. It really is a love/hate relationship I have. The new battle pass comes out this week though so at least there will be something else for me to work towards.

Michael | I didn’t play much this weekend since I had to work on saturday. But on Sunday I managed to play some RuneScape and some Pokémon. Time flew by unfortunatly 🙁
