It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Dead by Daylight is getting a little stale again but that’s ok because the Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter comes out next Tuesday if everything goes to plan. It’s still getting a few hours of playtime each day but I can’t exactly say I’m having a fantastic time right now with the majority of killers playing the way they do.
I continued my Nexomon journey this week and I’ve made excellent progress. My main party of Nexomon are now Level 40+ and I’ve caught 149/311 which I think is pretty neat! I caught my first legendary, Luhava and I’m currently in the Phantom Region. I’ve made a spreadsheet of all the Nexomon so I don’t miss catching any. I do love making spreadsheets in case you couldn’t already tell.
To break off from Dead by Daylight, Cluedo and Generation Zero have been the go-to games. Cluedo is easy to load up and play. I’ve started to fill in my scoresheet a little differently now which has made it quicker to cross off possibilities. Generation Zero is something Lewis suggested and as it’s co-op, we decided to give it a try. It’s an open-world action game which has you fighting hostile machines while uncovering exactly what happened to the world of Östertörn, Sweden. It’s not quite got my attention yet but some of the fights have been pretty chaotic. My survival instincts aren’t the best and never have been but my looting capabilities are pretty good. Now, if only I knew what to do with the loot.
Most interesting news of this week: Although it was technically announced last week, the Xbox Showcase and the gorgeous new handheld, the ROG Xbox Ally X, has finally been unveiled! We don’t have a price point or exact release date yet but they have told us it will be within the Holiday 2025 window! Plus, there were multiple games which caught my eye such as Aniimo, Cronos, and Clockwork Revolution.
Looking forward to playing: Dead by Daylight, Nexomon, and Generation Zero. I’m still wanting to continue my SCHiM playthrough.

I’ve been playing Ruffy and the Riverside mostly, testing the latest builds before we send it out to press. But I’m really having a lot of fun with it and can’t wait to see what everyone else thinks.
I’ve also played PaperKlay, another 3D platformer (coll-egg-athon) on PC and it’s a really nice, short but sweet indie title that you should definitely check out.
It’s Steam Next Fest, so I’ve been playing a lot of demos. Like Into The Grid, Winnie’s Hole, Devil Jam, Fading Serenades, The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest and the OFF Prologue.
Most interesting news of this week: I’m a week late, but my Nintendo Switch 2 arrived last week and I finally got to play around with it a bit. Mostly still playing my old Switch games on it though.
Looking forward to playing: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.

I’m currently playing Ruffy and the Riverside for my upcoming review and so far it’s been a very enjoyable game so keep an eye out for when it gets here.
I also played some more Baldur’s Gate III with friends. We didn’t get much progress done this time, but we still had some fun, although reaching the level cap makes the experience useless. I wish I could level up more :’)
I finished playing Resident Evil 4 Remake and I gotta say it’s my 2nd favourite game in the franchise. I’m not sure I’ll replay it though as I have many games I want to play and not much time on my hands. I started playing the Separate Ways DLC as well and it has also been good.
I played Brotato and Steamworld Dig again for Game Pass quest reasons – both are always fun to play.
I played through Return of the Obra Dinn and thought it was an interesting game but didn’t figure out character identities by myself; I had to follow a guide as I had no idea how to figure them out :’)
Finally, I played some Fall Guys with my girlfriend and we had some fun with it.
Most interesting news of this week: Final Fantasy XVI just arrived on Xbox and Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally coming.
Looking forward to playing: More Ruffy and the Riverside and Resident Evil 4 Remake’s DLC: Separate Ways.

I haven’t been able to play as much as I normally would because of some real-life stuff going on in the background. However, I unlocked all the achievements in Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo. I never thought I would be able to because of some challenging achievements, but I did it!
I have been playing the idle game Water Idles in the background while doing work. It is a lovely fishing idle game with a cute red panda and a flying cat/tiger creature.
And I just finished Lost in Random: The Eternal Die. What a fantastic game. I love the looks and the story. My main hobby outside of video games is board games, so having those two smashed together is a massive plus in my book.
Most interesting news of this week: With so many showcases going on last weekend, there are a lot of highlights this week. But maybe it is also worth mentioning how some news articles get attention because some huge gaming companies feel threatened/scared that some small gaming teams can make amazing games (Thinking of Expedition 33 and Balatro, but let’s not forget Stardew Valley). To me, it shows that not the size of your game or the size of your team matters, but that you find your passion and a way to make something interesting.
Looking forward to playing: Ruffy and the Riverside, and Star Overdrive.

I started playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition, which just released on Game Pass Ultimate. I’m not sure if I played the original, but I’m having a blast slaying Orks and trying out the different weapons available. I’ve just unlocked my power move ability, so I’m looking forward to trying that out later.
I’ve also been playing Apex Legends. I started ranked mode, which I’m enjoying more, as squad mates are less likely to leave. My go-to weapon is the Longbow, which is incredibly powerful, especially if you’re lucky enough to find the Skullpiercer attachment.
Another older game I played this week is Prominence Poker. I joined an online tournament and ended up knocking out several other players to win, unlocking a few achievements along the way.
Most interesting news of this week: Nintendo Switch 2 is the fastest selling over Nintendo console in history – selling 3.5M units in 4 days.
Looking forward to playing: Gears of War: Reloaded beta and more Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition.

I’ve been alternating between Elden Right Nightreign, Diablo 4 and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yazuka in Hawaii this week and I am having an absolute blast with all three.
I’m also enjoying some of the Steam Next Fest Demos that have been making the rounds and I’m excited to say that I’m a voice in one of the featured games called Clown is Hungry.
There are a lot of awesome-looking games on the horizon this year and as per usual I’m more excited about the Indie titles than the triple A with a few exceptions like Resident Evil 9 and ILL.
That’s basically it from me as I am now off to rewatch Clue.
Most interesting news of this week: Final Fantasy 7 Remake is finally coming to Xbox and it’s about time if you ask me.
Looking forward to playing: More Elden Ring Nightreign.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
