It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? And what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week has been a repeat of the last. Overwatch has been decent for the majority of this week, and I’ve managed to get back into Platinum as Support again. I got Illari to Level 100 on Friday after playing her for 168 hours, which I’m incredibly happy about. It may be a love-hate relationship I have with Overwatch, but I can’t go a day without playing it. It keeps me actively gaming, and that’s the consistency I need.
Lewis and I have continued making our way through the campaigns in Resident Evil 6 and have finally finished each campaign. Admittedly, after playing through them, I don’t believe Resident Evil 6 deserves the bad reputation it has been given by many. Next, we’ll be tackling the collection of all the serpent emblems and the professional difficulty. I’m really not looking forward to the online/multiplayer achievements, but that’s for another week.
Most interesting news of this week: Alien Isolation dropped a teaser of what is believed to be Alien Isolation 2, and I’m beyond excited. The first is one of my favourite games of all time, so it will be interesting to see what they do with the sequel.
Looking forward to playing: More of the above.

I had a week of beating games, which is always a great feeling! Such an endorphine high!
I beat Duck Side of the Moon on Nintendo Switch 2 and had a great time collecting everything. It’s nice to have a cosy short game as a palate cleanser between big releases that require dozens of hours sunk into them. We’ll have a review up for it on LifeisXbox soon!
I also beat Invincible Vs, first in easy and then in normal, which doesn’t take very long, as the campaign is only 1 hour. I’m now playing the arcade mode to see all 18 character endings and unlock some achievements. It’s a fun fighting game, but I was disappointed by the lack of story content/cinematics and also experienced quite some server issues when facing off against Benny at the weekend. He’ll have a review up for you soon, and I might just write some contributions.
And I also finally beat Screamer, which is the opposite: it has a ton of story content. More visual novel than racing game at times, but I had an amazing time with it, once I mastered the controls. That final level also had amazing music (unlike the rest of the game), and I’m still recovering from the goosebump moments as I write this. Very, very fresh take on the racing game genre. Doesn’t get enough credit!
And finally: Dead As Disco. I can’t say much yet, but the boss fights in this game will guarantee not to fail to impress. My love for great music in games is no secret (see above), and this one knocks it out of the park. Very likely to be my favourite game this year, and I’m honoured to have my name in the credits.
Most interesting news of this week: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced got announced, and it’s my favourite pirate game ever. Very excited to check that out later.
Looking forward to playing: Coffee Talk Tokyo. I need a calm, cosy game to unwind with next. And then, Forza Horizon 6!!

This week, I’ve played a lot more of Mouse PI for Hire; it has been a fascinating and quite unique game to play. I’m getting very close to finishing it, so expect my review to be up in the next few days.
I’ve also played a few hours of the latest Sonic Racing Crossworlds festival with friends. I believe this was the only festival I managed to get all rewards, and it felt a lot more fun to play than previous ones. I’m guessing they did some balance changes.
I played Minecraft Dungeons with a friend again, we’re playing through the DLCs, and it has been challenging but still pretty fun.
Vampire Crawlers has been my choice for the daily 15 minutes of an Xbox Game Pass game to play for Microsoft Rewards points, and it doesn’t disappoint in the fun department at all.
Most interesting news of this week: Xbox is bringing even more quality of life updates to their platforms.
Looking forward to playing: Finishing up Mouse PI for Hire, playing more Marvel Rivals as the current season is wrapping up and giving extra rewards, Vampire Crawlers, and more if I can.

This week, I’ve been playing Urban Jungle, a cosy game where you decorate rooms with flowers and other objects. You earn points based on where you place them, and the goal is to score enough to progress. As you play, a story about growing up and family gradually unfolds. You can read my review [HERE]
It was my birthday last week, and a friend came over, so we played Worms W.M.D with our own custom rules. For example, only the fourth worm in a team can move, and a player can only move again when they’re down to their last worm. If it reaches sudden death, all worms can move. It makes the game much more tactical, forces us to take tougher shots with items like grenades, and makes the movable worm the main target. Sometimes games are won by silly mistakes, and losing your movable worm early can feel like a guaranteed loss, but it often doesn’t play out that way.
I also started playing Aphelion. You play as two astronauts, switching between them as you progress. One is injured and limited to walking, while the other can use a grappling hook to traverse the environment. After a crash on an icy alien planet, you explore, solve puzzles, and try to survive while trying to reunite and uncover what is really happening. It is fairly linear with simple gameplay and no combat so far, but it still looks impressive even if it runs at 30 frames per second. I am looking forward to playing more.
Finally, I also started playing Invincible VS, a new fighting game based on the Invincible animated series. You play as characters from the show in fast, brutal 3v3 tag-team battles, using their unique powers and combos. It captures the intense, violent tone of the series with flashy, high-impact fights. Look out for my review coming soon.
Most interesting news of this week: The first teaser for the new Resident Evil movie is here, teasing a darker, survival-horror reboot focused on a new character caught in a viral outbreak. Early footage promises tense, claustrophobic horror and a fresh take on the franchise.
Looking forward to playing: Invincible VS and Aphelion.

This week, I finally finished Planet of Lana 2 and Origament: A Paper Adventure, and it’s been a total rollercoaster of cinematic scale mixed with some paper-thin zen vibes.
Planet of Lana 2 is a masterpiece that had me glued to the screen. Even though the controls felt a bit floaty and slippery during those high-stakes chases, the growing bond between Lana and Mui and that beautiful music made every single death worth it. Once my heart rate came back down.
Origament, which was a much more relaxed experience where I spent three hours shifting between a plane, a boat, and even a rock to deliver a long-lost letter through time. It’s such a creative little gem, but the lack of a tracking system for collectables made hunting for every last bottle feel like a bit of a chore, so I decided to just enjoy the atmosphere and move on.
Most interesting news of this week: Ubisoft has officially confirmed a remake of the beloved 2013 title, titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which is described as a full remake “rebuilt from the ground up” rather than a simple remaster. It is scheduled to be released on July 9, 2026.
Looking forward to playing: Mouse PI for Hire, I heard a lot of good things about it, and I’m really looking to experience it!

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
