It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week hasn’t been great for me as my mood has been pretty rocky, meaning I’ve had very little interest in gaming. That being said, I’ve still played for a few hours on various games.
As the Masquerade event in Dead by Daylight got extended, Lewis and I were able to check it out for a couple of hours, and we got to play our first game against Springtrap (The design is fantastic, but the gameplay was a little lacklustre to play against). There wasn’t much difference from previous events, but I would like to get one of the rewards before it finishes for good next Thursday.
I also introduced Lewis to Wolfenstein: Youngblood, as it’s a co-op game I thoroughly enjoyed when I first played it. It’s also something I’ve wanted to return to, as I have 4 achievements left to grab for the 100% completion. As I started a separate new save file while playing through the game with Lewis to make it it’s fair, I’ll work on my remaining achievements once we’ve completed the main campaign together.
After finishing my first playthrough of Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach and watching Lewis obtain the completion, I will likely be returning to this over the coming week/end to clean up everything I’ve missed. I have been on to grab a few miscellaneous achievements, but I know I need to start a fresh playthrough as I missed a collectable which is now unobtainable due to the area being closed off. I’m not looking forward to doing the daycare centre with Moon again (where said missable collectable is), but I know that if I utilise my saves correctly, I should only have to do it one more time *Fingers Crossed*
Most interesting news of this week: The Xbox Ultimate Game Sale 2025 is now live with over 1700 discounts, with both main games and DLC, so make sure to check it out!
Looking forward to playing: With my mood being as poor as it has been recently, I can’t say I’m looking forward to playing anything.

I’ve been playing a lot of Peglin on Xbox. Roguelikes are always super addictive like that, and while the Xbox port might drop the ball in a few places, it’s definitely high on the fun scale. Even long after playing, I can still see balls bouncing around in my head, so be wary of its lasting effects on your dopamine-hungry brain! You can read my full review [HERE]
On PlayStation, I’ve been playing Patapon 1+2 Replay. I was a bit sad I couldn’t play this on Xbox, especially because it could have been 2000G 😁, but happy to play these gems I missed out on before simply for never owning a PSP. Fun rhythm strategy game! You can watch my gameplay HERE
Most interesting news of this week: I just booked my tickets for Gamescom, and I can’t wait to see some new games there and interview some devs.
Looking forward to playing: My review copy of Donkey Kong Bananza just landed in my inbox, so that’s where I’m spending most of my time from now on.

I’ve played some more Monster Train 2 and still haven’t been able to win a run, but it has been fun, although more complex than the first one.
I’ve started playing It Takes Two with my girlfriend, and I’m glad to say we’re having a good time with it, even though it’s my second playthrough. Finally, I played some more Baldur’s Gate III with my friends; we’re slowly progressing, but it’s been fun nonetheless.
Most interesting news of this week: My Ruffy and the Riverside review has been published! You can read it [HERE]
Looking forward to playing: More Monster Train 2, finishing the Separate Ways DLC from Resident Evil 4 Remake and something else.

After a week of not playing much, I have been able to play a little more again. Starting off with finally collecting the last achievement in Supermarket Simulator. That one was a real grind, and I treated the game as an idle game, running it in the background when I was working or watching YouTube.
I played a bit of Tiny Garden, but that is a game I struggle with. Because for example for crop E you need crop D which needs A + B to be bought and it also needs crop F. So you need to collect a bunch from earlier ones to turn them into another and turn that into another, and if it were just 3 layers my brain would catch up, but it has so many layers. I hoped it would help to just make a bunch from them all, but since you need them to make the other one, it isn’t really working at the early stages of the game to just make a bunch. I love the idea and the artwork; I can see that it’s a fantastic little game. However, sadly, this one doesn’t quite click with my brain.
Then I started playing 20 Minutes Till Dawn, as I was looking for a game that would allow me to turn my brain off. 20 Minutes Till Dawn does exactly that while also being challenging. It is a Bullet Heaven (Like Vampire Survivors), and the character “Dasher” is my absolute favorite as she turns into a deer and kills the enemies by running through them.
And last but not least, I’m playing the upcoming game Misc. A Tiny Tale. What a beautiful and cute game. I’m in love with it and it reminds me a bit of Pikmin, not the gameplay as this is an adventure game, but with being so small and how everyday human things are so huge. This is releasing next week on the Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, and will be available on Steam a week later.
Most interesting news of this week: Different Banks and Cards are being able to put pressure on a company and determine what their customers can buy with their payment method. Valve is retiring a number of games because, otherwise, payment processors would no longer support Steam.
Looking forward to playing: More Misc. A Tiny Tale and 20 Minutes Till Dawn.

Most of my gaming time this week has gone into playing The Precinct. If you’ve ever played GTA and wondered what it would be like to play as a cop chasing criminals, well, now you can. Look out for my review coming next week.
I also played a little Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, mostly for nostalgia and to complete daily Game Pass quests. I had fun and can see myself jumping on for a few quick runs every now and then.
I had a few rounds on a new game called Greedland, too. You pilot a mercenary across alien-infested battlefields, mowing down hordes of mutants in intense top-down combat. While it can be played as an auto-shooter, you can also disable this and shoot manually. Complete objectives and try your best to stay alive until your dropship arrives. Greedland also supports local split-screen co-op, which I’m looking forward to trying the next time I have a friend over.
Most interesting news of this week: The Xbox Ultimate Game Sale 2025 is now live, offering over 1,700 deals across games, bundles, and DLCs. Running until August 1st, 2025, this is Microsoft’s largest Xbox sale of the year, with discounts reaching up to 95%.
Looking forward to playing: The Precinct and Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
