It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

My week has almost been a copy of last week. Jumping back into Overwatch 2 and I decided to do half of my competitive placement matches. I can’t complain: 4 out of 5 wins. Now, I just need to get the motivation to do the rest. Otherwise, the quick-play games have been pretty even, which makes a difference.
In Phasmophobia, I’ve reached Level 100+, but I don’t feel the need to prestige quite yet. I’m also getting a little more familiar with the ghosts and their abilities which can make the deduction process much easier.
Most interesting news of this week: It’s a sad week for Dead by Daylight as we lose Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, and Haddonfield in the map rotation. Although, if you have already purchased the survivor or killer, you can still play both after they have been removed.
Looking forward to playing: Overwatch 2, Phasmophobia, Contraband Police, and something new perhaps.

I’ve beaten Anima Gate of Memories and managed to get 3 out of 5 different endings so far. The remaining two will require some further levelling (or better skills on my part), so I’ve moved on to play the 2nd game. which shows the same events from the perspective of one of the opponents from the 1st. Interesting take, and I’m having a lot of fun with it.
My daughter started playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons over the winter break, and I’ve become intrigued enough about it to check it out myself. Very cozy and relaxing!
Also, 2 days ago, I beat No Players Online in a single 3-hour sitting. A super original Belgian indie horror game with clever twists and some very unique ideas. I’d rather not spoil too much, but I can recommend everyone to check it out.
Most interesting news of this week: LEGO announced their Pokémon line-up, and I’m very tempted to buy the €650 started evolution trio. It looks amazing, but it’s huge, and I wouldn’t know where to put it once it’s been built.
Looking forward to playing: Backlog, backlog, backlog! Including my favourite game of 2020 that is now FINALly landing on Xbox.

I’m back to playing Samurai Academy: Paws of Fury for an upcoming review after I finally noticed how to progress, which made me feel quite stupid, as it was pretty simple.
I played some Halls of Torment, as my current go-to Xbox Game Pass quest game, it has been quite addictive and feels pretty great to play.
I also played some more Fable 2 and Judgement again. I’m still enjoying them quite a bit and do plan on finishing them either this month or the next one, if possible.
Most interesting news of this week: Resident Evil Requiem got a showcase with more details and gameplay.
Looking forward to playing: More Samurai Academy: Paws of Fury, Judgement, Fable 2, and Halls of Torment.

I’ve been playing Baseless, a thrilling and challenging shoot ’em up with a unique twist: you literally shoot to move! I powered through the main story and had an absolute blast. Check out my full review [HERE]
I have played Ball x Pit, and it’s been surprisingly addictive. The game is quite challenging, but with each run, I feel like I’m making more progress. Between runs, I’ve enjoyed building up the town and harvesting crops, which provides a nice break from the action. Dropping back into the pit with new upgrades and experimenting with different ball combinations is what keeps me coming back for more.
I tried the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo, and I was hooked from the start. Exploring towns, meeting quirky characters, and jumping into battles made the short few hours fly by. Even in the demo, the world feels alive, and I can’t wait to continue the adventure in the full game.
Most interesting news of this week: A new Life Is Strange game has been officially confirmed through teasers by Deck Nine and Square Enix, with a full reveal scheduled for 20 January 2026. The upcoming livestream is expected to showcase the first trailer and more details.
Looking forward to playing: Cronos: The New Dawn, Mario Galaxy and Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch 2 Edition.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
