Eyes on the Weekend (#36)

In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the times we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Dae Jim | Not much time for Xbox, sadly enough. Had to unpack lots of boxes and carry waaay to heavy things as I recently moved. Only thing I could play was a little Psychonauts 2, fantastic game that everyone should play!

Robby (BloodyGoodReviews) | Started Friday by playing some Psychonauts 2 and freaking loved every minute. Such an awesome game and I can’t wait to play more of it. The silly characters, the fantastic level design, fun platforming and collecting stuff. It’s so much fun. Then I realized Lake was coming out soon and got back in touch with the Dutch devs to request my review copy. I had a great time with the demo at the start of the summer and couldn’t wait to relax again while delivering mail in this chill, slowpaced indiegame. It’s a very calming experience with a nice, genuine vibe to it.I also wanted to try We Who Are About To Die (Belgian gladiotor game with a very limited closed beta now) but had some tech issues with my laptop and also a lack of time.

Alexis | On vacation.

Mika | I had a really shitty weekend because my cat Mickey is really sick  I did game between caring for him but I wasn’t in a good mood as you can imagine. I played some League of Legends and started actually adding people and giving up on playing 100% solo. I know, it’s weak. But playing solo as a support main in bronze is hell imo. I also played some Dead By Daylight, first tried the Trickster killer, but sadly did not like him at all. Then I went back to survivor, which is fun.

VicciVulpix | I actually managed to get some gaming in this weekend; woohoo! I’ll start of with Blair Witch. As sadly this is leaving games pass in the next day or so, I decided to play this through to grab some achievements. I completed one playthrough and it was actually pretty damn good! There were jump scares, frightening environments, and a sense of mystery surrounding everything. Certainly would recommend if you are a fan of the horror genre.Secondly, I started one of my review games – The Vale: Shadow of the Crown. I won’t go into much but I have to say if I needed to describe this game in one word it would be unique.Lastly, I did play a few games of SMITE and also bought a large amount of gems (Sales are my weakness) which I used to open some 200 Gem chests. I got many different skins for various gods and some were ones I’ve wanted for a long time. Also managed to get my Yemoja to tier ten.

Maui | On vacation.

Michael |
On vacation with her… I don’t know how he survives it.

Orange Spark | I had a good weekend when it comes to gaming this week around. On friday I got bit by the nostalgia bug that got me that got me craving some snowboarding and primate hunting action. So I dug up my old copies of SSX Tricky and Ape Escape 3 and then promptly went and emulated them on PCSX2.On Saturday I started with some light Jelly Breaker Deluxe. It’s a twin stick action platformer which I’ll be writing a review for this week. I hope you’ll look forward to that. But from then on, my screentime was once again dominated by Monster Hunter World. I’m currently playing on a second character together with a friend whom I convinced to buy the game. He’s got way more of a knack for it than I imagined at first, which has seen him fly through the base game in roughly a week. We’re currently on the cusp of the Iceborne expansion. I’m hoping we can do some of the event quests in high rank before heading for Master rank. Wouldn’t want the master rank gear to make these previous challenges too easy.

Aaron | This weekend I have been spending some time with Aliens: Fireteam Elite. It’s a pretty decent shooter with some good co operative mechanics & a huge focus on strategic gameplay. This isn’t a “go in guns blazing” sort of game. This is more of a methodical approach to carrying out your objectives, otherwise you will find that you easily get swarmed resulting in acidic defeat. There is also a hoard mode to unlock much like the game mode found in Gears of War 5 and that for me is enough to fill my weekend with fun!

Rafael | It was my mother’s Birthday on Saturday, so I spent the day in my parents’ house. I bought a cake and sweeties and we made a mess at their place. It was really good to be with them.
Regarding games, I (finally) finished Claybook, the visually astonishing game from the studio Second Order that I reviewed in 2018. I just don’t understand why it is still on Game Preview.
Played some Formula Retro Racing, an interesting and challenging arcade racing from Repixel8, and Ginger: Beyond The Crystal, a buggy and unpolished – although beautiful – 3D platformer from Drakhar Studio. And that’s it.
