Review | Sizeable

LifeisXbox’s Sizeable review | My first Belgian game of the year, and most likely my favorite one as well! Sizeable is a puzzle/exploration game by Belgian developer Sander Ambroos and published by Business Goose Studios. It’s a short and sweet game that catches your attention from the very first minute and manages to actually keep your attention throughout all 21 levels. Not a lot of games have this ability, and that’s exactly why Sizeable deserves both your time and money!

This is a short-review, our usual the good, mixed and the bad was difficult because of the nature of this game. We played Sizeable for 2 hours on PC.

Sizeable is one of those games that you wish lasted for several more hours. Unfortunately, I finished it in less than 2 hours. And that’s honestly the only thing I ‘disliked’ about this game: its length and no replayability. But I’m getting ahead of myself, let me first tell you a little about Sizeable. In this game, you have to shrink, grow, and move objects in order to find all three pillars so you can move to the next level. By manipulating items in the dioramas, secrets will show, the environment might just change a bit. Don’t worry if you’re not very good at puzzles; they are not that difficult. And in the top left corner of your screen, there are three symbols indicating the three pillars. They use little icons, which help you narrow down where to look for puzzles that lead to the pillars. It’s a very cool puzzle game that has some great mechanics. Every diorama also has a tortoise hidden inside, which is not obligatory to find, but it adds a nice extra challenge. There is a total of 21 levels, and even some secret levels that unlock when a certain target is obtained (like finding all tortoise).

Oh, and what a beautiful game this is! The graphics are quite simple but so very pleasing. Sizeable uses bright and vibrant colors, combined with a beautiful soundtrack. Add to this that the controls are super easy and very straightforward, and you get one amazing game.

I had the best time with Sizeable. All three basic aspects of a game (gameplay, graphics, sound) are very well represented in Sizeable. I only wish the fun lasted longer!
