PC REVIEW | Hungry Horrors (Tidbit-style)

Are you HUNGRY for another review? I know Hungry Horrors is! In this fantastic pixel based roguelite, you’ll be dungeon diving your way into the hearts – and stomachs – of all you come across! Just make sure YOU don’t make the list for their next meal.

Hungry Horrors, developed and published by Clumsy Bear Studio, takes the concept of deck building, puts some turn-based battling in the mix, turns on the creativity blender, and says, “What would these taste like if we added a new objective to fighting?” Instead of defeating your enemies, you dive into their tastes, combining sweet, salty, or savory dishes on your cards to satisfy their hungry, or at least overstuff them till they can’t move anymore.

You develop your deck into an array of culinary masterpieces, even modifying some dishes from a 2-star bite to a 5-star event. You’ll collect new ingredients along the way, allowing you to dive deeper into the culinary world and mix in new dishes for the next runs. It’s fulfilling and, well, filling as well!

Graphically, the pixel art is spot on. The artist took their time and detailed the world around you, right down to the flecks of salt on some of the dishes. It is always appreciated when a company takes their pixel art seriously and doesn’t skimp on the finer details. It is much noticed.
