Beast of Reincarnation is a fast-paced, dark-fantasy action-RPG developed by Game Freak, where players brave a post-apocalyptic world alongside monstrous companions. Blending intense, real-time katana combat with tactical pet commands, the game challenges you to hunt down the ultimate apocalyptic threat known as the Beast of Reincarnation.
Monsters Are Coming! (Xbox) – August 6
Monsters are Coming! is a chaotic, top-down tower-survivor roguelite where you must protect a moving city on wheels from waves of darkness. The game challenges you to venture out into dangerous lands to gather resources, build powerful defensive towers directly onto your moving fortress, and survive the onslaught before the city turns to ash.
Duskfade (Xbox, PS5, PC, Switch) – August 13
Duskfade is a vibrant, 3D action-platformer that looks like a perfect love letter to the golden era of PlayStation 2 adventures. You play as a young boy named Zirian who, alongside his robotic buddy Cuckoo, explores a magical clockpunk world. It promises a wonderfully nostalgic journey where you jump, swing, and slash through corrupted lands to save your sister from eternal night.
The Sinking City 2 (Xbox, PS5, PC) – August 18
The Sinking City 2 is an eerie, Lovecraftian survival horror game that I think looks incredibly promising for anyone who loves pure, resource-scarce tension. Developed by Frogwares, the sequel pivots into intense action as you guide occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty through the decaying, flooded streets of 1920s Arkham. Navigating by foot and boat, you must fight cosmic horrors to save your partner from a mysterious supernatural coma.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (Xbox, PS5, PC) – August 27
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a third-person action-adventure prequel that marks a surprising but exciting shift away from the stealth and terrifying rat swarms of Innocence and Requiem. Trading tense rat-dodging for direct sword combat, this game takes us 15 years into the past. You play as a younger Sophia, exploring a dangerous island to confront a dark, mythical curse.
