Eyes on the Weekend (22-24 October)

In Eyes on the Weekend we share what our LifeisXbox team has been playing, most of the time we have our hands full with review games. Some of those have embargo’s so we can’t always openly share what we are playing. What is interesting for us is to see what YOU have been playing! Be sure to let us know on social media! 🙂

Dae Jim | To be continued… Later on today.

Robby (BloodyGoodReviews) | I’m playing some Golf Club Wasteland every day for the daily achievement for Microsoft Rewards. The golfing can be pretty frustrating, but the narrative is very interesting and the soundtrack is awesome, with radio talk shows informing you of what happened and people giving testimonies. Short ~1.5h game that is very much worth checking out. Played about an hour of Back 4 Blood as well but wasn’t a big fan. I’ll probably go back to beat all the story missions at least once and then uninstall it. Just doesn’t do anything for me. For review, I spent most of my weekend with The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. It’s definitely a step up from the previous titles and has a great setting with some actual action this time, while also giving us a lot of interesting lore into the creatures and their origin story. Going to start the 2nd playthrough this week to see how different it ends up being with other choices made.

Alexis | This weekend I played some BFV in preparation for next month’s release of 2042. Honestly, I was hoping that they would include one of my most favorite BF’s in this one, but it’s obvious why they didn’t. 2142 is actually in the future of 2042 (yeah, easy maths right there). I also took time to review, what is in my opinion one of the worst games that came out this year (that I reviewed at least). Read all about it, soon! A tiny hint? It’s a knock-off version of one of the most notorious renegades out there, and it’s bad.

Aaron | This weekend I spent the entire time fighting the Los Ganados in VR. Resident Evil 4 has had many ports over the last 10 years, but this one feels the most original & fresh since the first one that debuted on the GameCube back in 2005. The immersive weapon mode is by far one of the highlights of the game with you being able to realistically carry a two-handed weapon on your sling and your handgun on your hip. You reload ammo & chamber rounds as you would in real life, eat herbs to gain health and even manually configure your weapons on the workbench when upgrading. There are a load of new additions here that make this a worthy purchase at 29.99. If you have a Quest 2, I highly recommend it.

VicciVulpix | I believe I only played a handful of games on SMITE this weekend. The new God, Cliodhna, looks incredible and has definitely been well designed in terms of her abilities and mechanics She’s frustrating to go against but I’m still enjoying playing; not too strong but strong enough. Desperately looking to learn the jungle role in the correct manner. Unfortunately for me, I’m finding this rather difficult. One day perhaps. Think I’m going to choose one assassin and stick to them – maybe Da Ji, Nezha, or Nemesis.

Maui | I’ve been sick and out of energy all week and unfortunately, this included the weekend. So I spent most of my weekend watching series on Netflix like Locke & Key and yes, finally, Squid Game. I did try to catch up on some games for reviews so I continued my adventure in Alchemic Cutie, which is kind of like Stardew Valley, as it’s a relaxing RPG. I’m not entirely convinced yet, but hoping to continue a little more this evening! I also crashed my way through Circuit Superstars, a top-down racer in which I very much sucked. Like big time. I should not be allowed around racing games because I am the literal worst. Still had a very good time though, so a review is coming soon!

Orange Spark | This weekend I didn’t do much gaming at all. I played some Elite Dangerous Odyssey and Monster Hunter World Iceborne on Saturday evening. I did some delivery missions in Elite while chatting with friends and watching anime, and helped my friend fight his first Rajang in Monster Hunter. On Sunday I’ve been catching up on the fall season anime that started airing, as well as finishing the last few Fate Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Battlefront episodes.

Colombo | This weekend I played a bit more Back 4 Blood by myself and I’m still finding it to be quite fun! Also played some Immortal Redneck, which is a pretty fun FPS with rogue-lite elements I bought a while ago. Had some friends come over on Saturday and we played some Gekido Urban Fighters, Buster Bros Collection, Crawl (which is a pretty fun game to play with friends) and some card games.

Bradley Delaere | I’ve finished my playthrough of Silver Chains this weekend, a review of this game will be coming soon! I have also tried out Back 4 Blood, seems like a pretty fun game so far! One small issue that I have so far is the fact that I can’t grind my achievements in Solo.
