It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? And what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions! We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve not played a great deal this week as I’ve been having some shoulder pain, making it difficult to do anything which involves my right arm/hand. I did play more Overwatch, both quickplay and competitive, but the games weren’t great. I was trying to get to Master 5, but instead ended up back at Diamond 2. I kept thinking it was my fault, but then I’d look at my healing statistics and realise I was playing my part. I also opened 100+ loot boxes from the season, but I didn’t get much I was excited about; nothing for Illari but the guaranteed Anniversary loot box sprays. Drives started on Thursday evening, so I’m hoping to participate in them over the weekend if my shoulder allows it.
On Steam Deck, I continued playing Swan Song and completed all the levels. I have written my review, which can be read [HERE], if you’re interested in puzzle games. As I mentioned in my review, Swan Song is a brilliant concept, but I just found some of the later levels to be a little too difficult. I’ve never been that good at puzzles, so maybe it says more about me than the game itself.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox’s CEO Asha Sharma plans to make Xbox consoles less expensive with innovations to make it accessible to a wider audience of people.
Looking forward to playing: Overwatch Season 3, Diablo IV, and maybe Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!

I just beat Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Still have mixed feelings about it, but leaning more towards the positive ones. Will have a review up soon! The short of it: it’s very much “experiment with mechanics” kinda like Scribblenauts. Lots of physics-based platforming & interactions.
I’ve also beaten Voidling Bound and have spent over 15 hours in it on Steam Deck. Despite not being officially Steam Deck Verified, it runs amazingly on it and is a great game to play before bed. I just had a ton of good fortune, hatching a golden egg, and a Kwipek was inside with the ability “Golden Goose”. Now I can splice that ability into all my top-level voidlings, and each kill has a 3% chance of dropping an egg. That adds up FAST. Hard to put down!
Most interesting news of the week: The Nintendo Direct had a new (well, kind of a remaster) Final Fantasy in it that’s releasing this year. Super excited for it. Equally let down by the quality of Kingdom Hearts 4, though. That one really looks like it’s running on previous-generation hardware.
Looking forward to playing: Steam Next Fest demos! I’ll kick things off with The Devil’s Due.

This week, I finished playing Voidling Bound for my newest review, which you can check [HERE]. It was a pretty fun game to play, and I already hope that a sequel will come out eventually with even more content and creatures to play
I also played a tiny bit of Marvel Rivals with friends. My Xbox Game Pass games of choice this week were Brotato and Minecraft Dungeons, which I played with my friend as usual.
Resident Evil Requiem was also on my schedule, though I only played it for a little bit, as I didn’t have as much free time this week as I usually do.
Most interesting news of the week: Apart from the announcements from the Xbox Showcase from Saturday, which were exciting, Xbox has also released a deep dive into Fable this week on YouTube, which is looking promising.
Looking forward to playing: More Resident Evil Requiem, Marvel Rivals and Xbox Game Pass games.

This week I’ve been playing Realm of Ink, a fast-paced action roguelite with a beautiful ink-wash art style that gives the game a distinctive Chinese fantasy aesthetic. You shape your own fighting style through powerful build combinations, earn lasting upgrades and continually grow stronger with each run. Despite a few flaws, I enjoyed my time with it and found the build variety especially rewarding. You can read my full review [HERE]
I’ve also returned to playing Diablo IV, and although I’d only played a little previously, upon returning, I was prompted to create a new character to access the seasonal content. While this meant starting fresh, it also gave me a chance to re-familiarise myself with the game, and it already feels more immersive than I remember. I’m particularly enjoying the lore and cinematics, which do a great job of drawing me into the world and making the journey feel meaningful.
I’ve also been playing a bit more Forza Horizon 6, and the map is massive. I’m still exploring and unlocking new regions, picking up mascots, smashing bonus boards, and finding treasure cars. I’ve even stumbled across a few barn finds already, with some appearing quickly in marked zones while others are well hidden. I’ve also bought a few houses, which you can set as your home and start from when you load in. It’s one of those games where you sit down for a quick drive and suddenly hours disappear. I’ve been spending loads of time in photo mode too, capturing everything as I go.
Most interesting news of the week: At the latest Nintendo Direct, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was officially announced, set to launch later this year on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Looking forward to playing: Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration (Switch 2)

I’m back after a brief respite and back to playing some awesome games again. At the moment, I’m addicted to playing Subnautica 2, and I cannot wait to see what the developers bring with the next update when it comes out.
I’ve also been playing some Broken Sword Remastered, and I’m happy to hear that they are finally making a movie about the adventures of George Stobbart and Nicole Collard. Broken Sword was actually my favourite Point and click series for many years. Now I am still recovering a little, but I will be back reviewing with enthusiasm, so keep an eye out.
Most interesting news of the week: Resident Evil: Veronica was announced, and I cannot wait!
Looking forward to playing: More Subnautica 2, R.E.P.O., and a few indie titles.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
