It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week has been entirely dedicated to Borderlands 4. Lewis and I have blitzed the game this week: We completed the campaign, obtained every collectable, completed all activities, fought every primordial guardian, and finished every side quest. We also got some miscellaneous achievements. Next, it’s onto the Ultimate Vault Hunter Ranks, bringing each character to Level 50, and completing the gear and manufacturer challenges. I’ve started my review, so keep checking back. There is A LOT to unpack.
Most interesting news of this week: Rockstar Games has pushed back the initial release of Grand Theft Auto VI to November 19th 2026, stating “It will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve”.
Looking forward to playing: Hopefully, Borderlands 4 will be completed within the next week, so I’ll be looking for something else to play or go back to.

I’m still testing out the Steam Deck, and this week that meant reviewing Disco Samurai on it (even though it’s not Steam Deck verified). It’s a short but fun rhythm game releasing on 14th November on Steam and coming to consoles later. My review will go up on 13th November, but you can already check some gameplay HERE
On Xbox, I’m still chipping away at Final Fantasy Tactics with about 30 hours put into it, and I’ve only just reached the last chapter. I didn’t grind at first, but because I just had a really spicy challenge, I decided to spend about 5-10 hours grinding away at jobs. I also lost a lot of time to a text-adventure minigame that I wasn’t even able to beat (I read later that it takes about 3 hours AND a lot of luck, so no thank you… will skip on that!)
I also got to playtest Anima Gate of Memories I & II Remaster, which we’ll have a review for soon on LifeIsxbox (but not by me). but it feels like a fun action-RPG with a low barrier to entry. I know the original games had a lot of fans, and the remaster will be a welcome release for them. It’ll also have a physical collector’s edition, which I’ll get to support the devs.
On Switch I’m still playing Pokémon Legends Z-A, and the more I play, the more it’s growing on me! Will also have a review for that later, but I’ll need to beat the story first.
Most interesting news of this week: Microsoft is being a dick to their gaming studios and expecting all of them to deliver a 30% profit. Basically, an excuse for even more incoming lay-offs, I think. At this point, I’m beginning to fear for the future of Xbox.
Looking forward to playing: Dragon Quest I & II Remake!

This week I’ve been playing a lot of Anima Gate of Memories I&II Remaster for an upcoming review. I haven’t played the originals, but it’s been a difficult and interesting game to play. You’ll hear more about it in my upcoming review.
I played a bit more of BALL x PIT and Conscript, both have been very good so far. I also played a little bit more of Sonic Racing Crossworlds with friends again.
I played a little bit of Brotato and Enter the Gungeon for Xbox Game Pass quest reasons once again. I also tried Halls of Torment, a recent addition to Xbox Game Pass that is pretty good, with a very retro isometric camera and graphics.
Most interesting news of this week: GTA VI getting delayed.
Looking forward to playing: More Anima Gate of Memories I&II Remaster, BALL x PIT, Once Upon a Katamari for an upcoming review, and Conscript.

I have been addicted to “engine builder” kinda video games this past week. Engine building is a term commonly used in board games. Still, it is also fitting for video games like Balatro, CloverPit, and Dice Dice Baby, in which you strive to do the best and create admirable combos with the possibilities you are dealt. Numbers go up, synergies to make, that kind of stuff.
I have been working on the challenges in CloverPit. I finally managed to get the “Golden Knob” achievement. Now I have to beat that challenge two more times, and many other challenges remain.
I have also been playing Dice Dice Baby, in the same vein as Balatro and CloverPit, but with a focus on dice. It’s Yatzee on steroids, and it is so much fun because of the different abilities, and the runs are short.
Magical Greenhouse was released this week, and what a lovely potion-making and shopkeeper game! And last Tavern Keeper. I’m so impressed by all the big and little things; so much love and passion went into the making of that game, which you can see and feel from the moment you start playing.
Most interesting news of this week: Everything around Rockstar Games this weekend. The layoffs of people who were possibly unionizing, the delay, and the drop in stock price.
Looking forward to playing: More CloverPit, Dice Dice Baby, and Windswept.

This week I’ve been playing a bit more of The Outer Worlds 2, and I’m really starting to get lost in it. I’ve been exploring different planets, taking on side quests, and just enjoying the freedom the game gives you to do things your own way. It’s definitely one of those games you can sink hours into without even noticing. The characters are packed with personality, the dialogue is clever and often hilarious, and the wildlife designs are both creative and a little terrifying at times. It’s one I’ll definitely be dipping back into whenever I have the itch for some space-faring adventure.
I’ve also been jumping into Battlefield 6 here and there for a few rounds of Conquest. I just hit level 30, and I have to say, it feels great to see Battlefield back to form. The chaos, teamwork, and huge-scale battles are everything I’ve missed from the series. I haven’t tried the single-player campaign yet, but it’s on my to-do list. For now, the multiplayer has been more than enough to scratch that classic Battlefield itch.
Lastly, I started Tales of Xillia Remastered, an RPG that originally came out back in 2013. I never played the original release, but I’d always heard good things from friends, so when the remaster dropped, I couldn’t resist. It’s been a really pleasant surprise so far, the story’s engaging, the cast is likeable, and the combat system feels snappy and fun. I’ll be covering Tales of Xillia Remastered more in-depth in my next review once I’ve spent a bit more time with it.
Most interesting news of this week: It’s been announced that Maggie Robertson, best known for her standout performances as the towering Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village and the menacing shapeshifter Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3, will host this year’s Golden Joystick Awards, set to take place in London on November 20th.
Looking forward to playing: Tales of Xillia Remastered, Neon Inferno and Battlefield 6.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
