It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve barely played anything this week, but I do still have a few games to mention.
The first would have to be SongPop Party, which I played with Lewis. As we both have the final two grindy achievements to obtain, we’ve just been playing a mixture of playlists for the fun of it. It has been pretty even in terms of wins, and some of my favourite playlists have become Charli XCX (even if the Brat songs are yet to be added), Viral Hits, and Video Games.
I was trying to maintain an achievement streak by completing the miscellaneous achievements in Spray Paint Simulator, but I forgot to get one on Thursday, so I’ll probably finish that up soon.
Most interesting news of this week: Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release on September 5th, which is one horror game I’ve been looking forward to since it was announced. Also, the Overwatch Mid-Season Championship is being played this weekend at the Esports World Cup!
Looking forward to playing: Overwatch 2 and the Battlefield 6 Open Beta.

Still playing the same games from last week, mostly: Donkey Kong Bananza on the Switch 2, Peglin on Xbox, Patapon 2 Replay on PlayStation 5. Mostly surprised about how much content there is in DK Bananza. Did NOT expect this to be a 50h game, but here we are…
On PC, I’m playtesting OFF before its OFFicial release on August 15th. It’s such a wonderfully weird RPG, and the music is amazing!
Most interesting news of this week: Nintendo Partner Direct showed us 2 new upcoming HD2D games by Square Enix, Octopath Traveller 0 and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
Looking forward to playing: More DK Bananza, mostly; it’s just that good!

I’m still playing My Friendly Neighborhood, and although inventory management has been a problem, it has been quite an interesting and fun game to play.
Also, I got back to playing Steamworld Dig 2, and I’m pretty close to finishing it. I’m not doing 100% of it because some challenges are way too annoying, but it is a very good game.
Finally, I played some more Baldur’s Gate 3 with friends again. We got some good progress done this time around, but there are still some hours ahead of us.
Most interesting news of this week: The THQ showcase had some interesting announcements and a new trailer for the Gothic Remake, which is looking pretty good.
Looking forward to playing: I’ll start playing two games for upcoming reviews, and I’ll most likely still play My Friendly Neighborhood and Baldur’s Gate 3 next week. If I have the time, I’ll also play more Steamworld Dig 2.

I finished Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream. What a beautiful story, and the game is just gorgeous! I rate this a 5 out of 5, just excellent!
Also, collected the last achievements in Misc. A tiny Tale, another banger that just released, that is beautiful and has a deeper story than you might expect.
I played a few rounds of Vampire Survivor in multiplayer through Steam Remote Play to introduce a friend to this fantastic game that you can play while also turning your brain off.
However, most of my gaming hours this week went into Ritual of Raven, which will release in a few days. I love how this automation game didn’t make me question if I’m smart enough, as you can also do the programming steps in small steps. And there is always something you can do or work on, not only the main story, but the many side quests. I’m enjoying my time in Ritual of Raven a lot.
Most interesting news of this week: Wholesome Games will host a new event on Steam between August 15 and August 21. I love the cute games they highlight, and we will see a lot of cozy releases this month.
Looking forward to playing: Finishing Ritual of Raven.

This week, I’ve been playing Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines, which I’ve just finished. It’s a fun, colourful side‑scrolling platformer, and my review will be available shortly.
Killing Floor 3 is another game I’ve been playing this week. I started solo to learn the controls and basic mechanics before moving on to online co‑op, which is where the game really shines. I’m having a blast so far, despite a few technical issues that will hopefully be addressed soon.
I also began playing Cyber Clutch: Hot Import Nights, a new arcade combat‑racing game. The racing is fast and frantic and takes place on tracks that instantly brought to mind Cyberpunk-style cities. I can’t wait to test this online; my review will come later once I’ve played more.
Most interesting news of this week: Electronic Arts has officially confirmed that Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. During the multiplayer reveal, EA emphasised that this entry doubles down on the series’ foundational style, reintroducing classic Battlefield modes while integrating modern warfare mechanics.
Looking forward to playing: Killing Floor 3 and Cyber Clutch: Hot Import Nights.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
