Eyes on the Week (24th-28th October)

Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

A pretty packed week gameplay-wise for me. As for multiplayer games, I have played numerous games on Dead by Daylight, CrossfireX and Overwatch 2. Currently still thirsting for bloodpoints to prestige Yui further in Dead by Daylight. CrossfireX was a game I’d wanted to try for some time and as it’s not regarded as a major first-person shooter, I’ve enjoyed the casual gameplay but the spawn camping that I’ve witnessed on numerous occasions is atrocious. Then we move on to Overwatch 2 – the game where I’m only ever happy playing as one character otherwise I lose all sense of being; I really need to learn another support character. All games I’ve been playing with my partner and it’s been great fun to have a mixture of genres to play together. We definitely know when it’s time to change from one game to another, that’s for certain! In terms of single-player games, I played a couple. On Monday, I started out the New Tales from the Borderlands and completed it Thursday afternoon. I enjoy decision-making that has consequences and that’s what Telltale games are all about. I do intend to return for some different playthrough choices and miscellaneous achievements but more importantly, keep an eye out for my review in the next couple of days! For another review, I have just started the game White Day: A Labyrinth Named School which has already turned me around multiple times but I’m hoping I can find my way eventually and avoid the creepy janitors trying to kill me.

Most exciting news of this week: BioWare has announced they’ve made tremendous progress with their upcoming game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, by completing its alpha milestone. In addition, seeing Age of Empires is making its debut to console next year and Age of Mythology Retold will also be coming to PC Games Pass.

Looking forward to playing: White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, Dead by Daylight, Overwatch 2, and either more CrossfireX and/or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered for my first-person shooter medal on TrueAchievements.

I wish I had more time to game this week but really had to limit it to just a couple of hours. I made some progress in A Plague Tale: Requiem, but I’m only in chapter 4 out of 15 (I think) so still have some ways to go. I did get an awesome Press Kit which I am really grateful for.  I also picked up Vampire Survivors again on PC as it now has a full release with achievements.

Most exciting news of this week: Cannes is getting a videogames festival, which seems awesome (and in reach) – I hope to be able to go one day.

Looking forward to playing: more Plague Tale & also Jackbox Party Pack 9 this weekend with friends!

I’ve been sick all week so didn’t play anything. But I’m going to make up for it next week playing much more I hope! I still have a couple of reviews to work on so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

Most exciting news of this week: Didn’t really follow the news because I wasn’t feeling well.

Looking forward to playing: The new Call of Duty!

This week I played through the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign & absolutely loved every second of it. Pre-ordering the game allows you access to the campaign early, & I have to say, it’s the best COD campaign in years. Firstly, the story has been reworked to make it more modern-day & if you have played the original & think it’s a simple re-telling, there is so much more here. The cinematics are some of the best I’ve seen in any game. The action is grounded in reality & works well for the setting. Unfortunately, I’ll have to stay up until midnight to try out the new war zone & online modes. But will be eagerly doing that.

Most exciting news of this week: Paranormal Tales trailer showing off in-engine gameplay. It looks great and super creepy. Looking forward to this one.

Looking forward to playing: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 online & the new Resident Evil Village DLC which I have also pre-ordered

This week I got to play a little bit of Overwatch 2GTA IV, and a tiny bit of Dead by Daylight. I’m trying to prestige some killers for their perks but it’s taking a while since I haven’t been able to play much. I also played The Witch’s House MV for an upcoming review. I already finished playing it, and despite me not playing the original, this remaster was a pretty interesting experience.

Most exciting news of this week: The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 disc only having 72MB in it was incredibly funny and sad at the same time to know about.

Looking forward to playing: Pnevmo Capsula and another game for upcoming reviews, Dead by Daylight, GTA IV, and some more Overwatch 2 if I can find the time for all of them.
