It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? And what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions! We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

More Overwatch has been on the schedule this week. Not much to recap other than to say I completed the Mecha Mania event, so I’ll be looking forward to Tuesday, where I hope we get a new event. Also, my Maximillian’s Vault was pretty lame; not a single Illari or Juno skin in sight.
After finishing Directive 8020 over the weekend, Lewis and I decided to go back and play The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope again, as it’s the one I least remember (and enjoyed), so I wanted us to give it another chance. We didn’t manage to play much, and as we started the game in Movie Night mode, we’ll have to wait until we are back together to continue. By the way, why did Supermassive Games decide to make Directive 8020 local co-op only?! That sucks.
We also wanted to return to Shift at Midnight to clean up after completing our first blind full playthrough. Though, we still need to invest in two more playthroughs for ending purposes. Something we can chip away at over the coming week or so.
Most interesting news of the week: The Grand Theft Auto VI Netflix Extended Look went well and seems to have many people hyped for its release. I’m not one of those people, but I’m sure I’ll get drawn in closer to release.
Looking forward to playing: Overwatch, Directive 8020, Shift at Midnight, Mafia, and perhaps returning to Wildmender.

I was at Gamescom all week, so whatever I put here will just be a shorter form of my preview articles you can now check on LifeisXbox!
A short list of games I played: Alien Isolation 2, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Cronos: Lazarus, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, CONTROL Resonant (my personal game of the show), ONTOS, Dragon’s Dogma II DLC, Sea of Remnants, and a load of indies I’ll recap in a list article as soon as I can.
Most interesting news of the week: Indie devs getting their laptops stolen at Gamescom as per usual and the event’s victim-blaming reply. Just so terrible for those devs, and this has happened every year now.
Looking forward to playing: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I’m a huge fan of the previous two games and curious to find out if it holds up without their unique rat-flood tech as the setpiece.

This week I played quite a few hours of Batman Arkham Knight, as I want to try to collect everything in the story mode to watch the true ending, though it won’t be the end of my Bat-marathon, as I want to replay the Telltale Batman games as well.
Halls of Torment and Blood Dungeon have been my Xbox Game Pass games of choice this week. I’m still having fun with Halls of Torment, but I’m unsure if I’ll still be playing it for long, and Blood Dungeon could be my next go-to Xbox Game Pass game of choice, as it has the potential for it.
I also started playing through Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with 3 friends. It’s disappointing to see what could’ve been a great game, but there are many questionable choices, including story-based ones and the live-service inclusion one.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox officially announcing the disc-to-digital feature, which is pretty good to see.
Looking forward to playing: More Batman Arkham Knight, Blood Dungeon and maybe other games if I find the time for them.

This week I’ve been playing Forza Horizon 6, focusing on completing events, and I’ve just earned my gold wristband. It’s such a fun game, and after what’s been a difficult week, it’s been great to have something enjoyable to play and focus on.
I’ve also been playing The Lord of the Rings: War in the North – Legacy Edition. I’m playing solo for the most part, and while it can be challenging, a lot of that comes down to the poor checkpoint system. When you die, you can find yourself sent back quite a way, which can be really frustrating, especially when you’ve just made good progress. That said, there are also plenty of great nostalgic moments, and the visuals seem to get better the deeper you progress into the story. I’m hoping to have my review finished this upcoming week.
Finally, I played the first two hours of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Visually, it’s stunning, and I’m really enjoying the story so far. The combat is also pretty cool, and I’m looking forward to seeing how things develop. Robby will be covering this one in an upcoming review, so keep an eye out for that over the coming weeks.
Most interesting news of the week: Rockstar Games’ massive Grand Theft Auto 6 “Extended Look” reveal has debuted on Netflix, showcasing 26 minutes of raw gameplay ahead of its November release. The extensive video highlighted incredible visual fidelity, a revamped six-star wanted system, and seamless character-switching between protagonists Jason and Lucia across a massive, highly-reactive world.
Looking forward to playing: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Duskfade.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
