It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

After last week, I finally managed to get more gaming in as I’ve been less stressed. After starting Labyrinthine over the weekend and completing the campaign, Lewis and I have continued to explore more of the case files, levelling up to gain access to more maps, difficulties, and monsters. We’ve had great fun with this and intend to play more. I’ll write my review once I think we’ve experienced everything there is to experience.
After watching Lewis play, I decided to pick Crime Scene Cleaner back up. I’d already completed the main game, so I spent the week working through all the nightmare cases and completed a case in True Cleaner mode, as this was required for an achievement. I also got all the music discs, meaning Crime Scene Cleaner has been completed for a second time!
Most interesting news of this week: Well, the Xbox ROG Ally X has sold out all its pre-orders in the UK. I decided not to purchase one as I can’t warrant spending £800 on a handheld. I’d rather have a PC I can continuously upgrade.
Looking forward to playing: More Labyrinthine and starting Borderlands 4. Perhaps I’ll clean up Life is Strange: Double Exposure, too.

I just beat Coffee Talk on Xbox. It was the perfect game to play before going to sleep. Chill, cozy vibes, nicely developed characters. Happy to have finally beaten the story and am definitely going back for some achievements. Their newest demo, for Coffee Talk Tokyo, was also just added to Xbox.
On PC, I stayed in theme and beat Sips and Sonnets, a similar game about brewing tea and writing poetry. Very short, and my first ending took quite a dark turn…
On PlayStation, I’ve started playing Dreams of Another, mostly to test if everything works ahead of the 10 October Release. Definitely a unique idea to keep an eye on (also coming to Steam, sadly not to Xbox)
Most interesting news of this week: Lots of stuff happened, but Xbox increasing their hardware prices, again, is a big turnoff. I did like to see the Forza Horizon 6 trailer, set in Japan as many expected! ^^
Looking forward to playing: Very curious to give Easy Delivery Co a try after reading Derek’s review.

Most of my gaming time this week has been spent playing a bit of Back to the Dawn each day, for completing Xbox Game Pass quests, and it’s still been quite interesting. Other than that, I played some more Hellclock. This time, I feel like I’m making more progress, but it’s still not as much progress as I wish it were. On the plus side, there’s going to be an update on the 29th that will make considerable changes to the game, so I can include that in my review.
I played a little bit of Buckshot Roulette with a couple of friends, which was interesting. A Way Out was next, which I’m still playing with my girlfriend, and we’re getting close to the ending. I’m curious how she’ll feel about it, although she has her suspicions.
I also played a bit of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds with friends, which I only have access to thanks to one of them, and it is quite a fun kart racer. It’s definitely worth playing if you’re into the genre.
Finally, I played a tiny bit of Undertale, which I bought on a sale on Steam a little while ago. I had played it quite a bit on Xbox when it was on Game Pass, but I didn’t get to finish it then. One day I’ll get there.
Most interesting news of this week: Many Japanese titles are coming to Xbox as seen on the Xbox Tokyo Games Show stream, and Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan.
Looking forward to playing: More Hellclock, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, and Back to the Dawn.

I have been playing Wandness a lot the past 2 weeks. A lovely Bullet Heaven game, which still has a few bugs, but the developers are working diligently to address them. Very soon, I will only have two grindy achievements left to complete for grinding money. Not really looking forward to those, but I have been enjoying the rest a lot!
Have also been playing Henry Halfhead. It is fun to be able to jump into various items and use them to accomplish different objectives. A cute short indie game.
And since yesterday, I’ve been playing Twinkleby, which I enjoy a lot. It is a relaxing game that even has a little bit of an idle feeling. I love how adorable it looks, and it gives me a bit of a feeling like a doll house mixed with Viva Piñata.
Most interesting news of this week: I haven’t followed much news this week, but my personal highlight is that Slime Rancher 2 has been released out of early access and added Steam achievements. So hyped to play it soon.
Looking forward to playing: More Twinkleby, Knightling, and Mars Attracts.

This week’s been a busy one for gaming. I’ve been diving into Deadzone: Rogue, which I’m currently reviewing. Teaming up with random players in co-op matchmaking across PC and PS5, I’ve been tackling higher difficulty levels. It’s incredibly addictive, the kind of game that keeps pulling you in with that “just one more run” mindset.
Another highlight on my playlist this week is Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. I’ve beaten Sector 1 and am now working my way through Gate 1, basically Sector 1, but harder. The main goal is simple: survive until the end without fixed objectives. That said, you still have to take down the Dreadnought after Wave 5 on each level, and it’s proving to be a real challenge. Each run offers new unlocks, some permanent and others temporary, which keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting.
I’ve also dipped into Borderlands 4, playing co-op with a friend. It’s just been brief sessions here and there so far, but from what I’ve played, it’s been a lot of fun and worth coming back to.
Most interesting news of this week: It’s official: Forza Horizon 6 is heading to Japan! The iconic Horizon Festival makes its long-awaited move east, with the next chapter in the series launching in 2026 as a day-one Game Pass Ultimate title.
Looking forward to playing: Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, Borderlands 4 and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

I started Eternal Strands and in my first 10 hours, I was hooked by the visuals and the magic system. The world is gorgeous, almost like an animated movie, and exploring it felt exciting at first. Climbing cliffs, using the weather to my advantage, and unlocking new areas through Loomgates made me feel like I was on a real adventure.
The combat with elemental powers was fun too, even if it sometimes felt clunky. But the story? That’s where I quickly lost interest. I found myself going back to the same places just to collect things that didn’t matter, and the side plots didn’t feel meaningful. I wanted big fantasy quests with drama, not random personal storylines.
Most interesting news of this week: Hades 2 v1.0 launches September 25, which means it leaves early access on PC then.
Looking forward to playing: Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
