It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? And what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions! We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Overwatch has been the main game I’ve played this week, but not as much as usual due to the incredibly horrible heatwave we’ve been experiencing in the UK. In between the heat and World Cup matches, Lewis and I have played a few games. I need to commit a little more time to it in the following weeks to complete the prestige battle pass tiers (I need the title at Level 200!) and perhaps try and get back into the competitive.
As Dead by Daylight is celebrating its 10th Anniversary (Has it really been that long?), I decided to hop on a play as I didn’t want to miss out on too many rewards. It’s been almost a year since I last played, but honestly, nothing has changed. I took on both roles, Survivor and Killer, but didn’t find much enjoyment with all the sweaty killers and toxic survivors. It’s a shame, but I think I’ve had my fun with Dead by Daylight. I’ll revisit every once in a while if I get the itch.
Most interesting news of the week: Microsoft has decided to raise the prices of its Xbox consoles once again, and with quite a steep hike. I was looking into buying the Xbox Series X 1TB White Edition, but I think I might save for a gaming PC at this rate.
Looking forward to playing: Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!, Overwatch, and RV There Yet?

It’s been a new game week for me! On Xbox, I started Deer & Boy, which I’ll review on LifeIsXbox soon enough, but I keep falling asleep. I don’t think that’s the game’s fault, just the exhaustion of the heat during the day, and it being such a relaxed game, and me only booting it up after midnight. I’ll make some time to play during the day in the coming weekend!
On Nintendo Switch 2, I started Star Fox and beat it in the same sitting. A story run is about 90 minutes, and you need to do 3-4 of them to see all the possible levels there are in the game. I’ve reviewed it [HERE], and my favourite line is: “You’ll be (barrel) rolling credits before you’ve even had time to settle into the cockpit.”
On PC, I’ve just started playing Painting PC, in which you have to paint commissioned art for clients. Haven’t played enough yet to form an opinion, but I like the idea and the gamification that they added. As Painting VR was impressive, but I had little to no incentive to keep playing.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox prices going up again and a prediction that they’ll go even further in 2027.
Looking forward to playing: I’m completing Donkey Kong Bananza and having a blast. Also need to check out the content update for Dead as Disco!

I finished playing through LEGO The Incredibles, which has been on my backlog for two years. It wasn’t one of the best LEGO games I’ve played, but it still captures the spirit of the classic LEGO movie game adaptations and has other Pixar characters as bonus characters.
I played the usual Minecraft Dungeons and Marvel Rivals with friends again, as well as a little bit more of Replaced, which I’ll finish eventually if it doesn’t leave Xbox Game Pass soon. I started Asura’s Wrath, which has also been on my backlog for a while. It’s very interesting and clearly heavily inspired by anime in its presentation and absurdness.
Lastly, I gave Abyssus a go, and it was accidentally with a random player, as I forgot to set it to offline mode. We kept using the singing interaction and didn’t communicate with voice, and barely any text. My multiplayer experience was quick, but quite fun, and the game itself seems to have a lot to offer, so I believe I’ll play some more.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox console prices are rising. On a personal note, I’m giving it some time before I jump back into reviews again, though I am pleased to have been a part of the team for this long.
Looking forward to playing: More Marvel Rivals, Abyssus, Asura’s Wrath, and Minecraft Dungeons.

I started playing The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on Xbox, a game I’ve been looking forward to ever since it was announced last year, which I’ll be covering in my next review. It plays like a classic top-down Zelda-style adventure. Because of the current heatwave, I’ve been getting up early to squeeze in some playtime before it gets too hot later in the day. Even in short sessions, I’m really enjoying the beautiful HD-2D visuals, fast-paced combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. I can’t wait to have some longer sessions with it, and I’ll share my full thoughts in my review once I’ve spent more time with the game.
On Switch 2, I’ve been playing Wall World, a mech-spider mining roguelite where you climb giant walls, gather resources, upgrade your rig and fight off waves of enemies. Runs get tense when you’re deep in a dig and have to rush back to defend your mech or risk a game over, though you keep currency for permanent upgrades. The loop is solid but can feel a bit grindy, and it works well in handheld mode for quick sessions around the house or outside in the shade.
Also on Switch 2, I’ve just started playing Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition, which has just been released. In handheld mode, it looks very impressive. I’m a huge fan of the original on Xbox One from a while back. I’ve finished the prologue and can’t wait to dive in further.
Most interesting news of the week: Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are now live, with Rockstar confirming the physical edition will be code-in-a-box rather than a disc, effectively making it digital-only even in boxed form. The decision has sparked backlash from fans, especially collectors, over the loss of true physical ownership at full retail price.
Looking forward to playing: The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
