It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

During what has felt like a long week of much-needed rest and recuperation, I’ve played much the same as last week. Overwatch 2 has been hit or miss once again, but I’m having fun playing a more varied support pool, now including Lifeweaver (although, he needs a buff desperately) and Zenyatta, alongside my main three (Illari, Moira, and Lucio)
Lewis and I have made plenty of progress on Supermarket Simulator. We still have plenty of expansions and licenses to work towards, and we’re always trying to keep on top of everything being categorised and neat. The few bugs we have encountered can be annoying, but they won’t deter us from continuing our business venture!
Most interesting news of this week: Pacific Drive shadow-dropping onto Xbox and Xbox Game Pass.
Looking forward to playing: Overwatch 2, Supermarket Simulator, and Borderlands 4. Also, The Cabin Factory.

My Little Nightmares 3 review is out, and as you can read, I had some mixed feelings on it. It’s definitely the lesser of the three games so far, and without the DLC, it even feels incomplete. Still worth playing, but maybe not at full launch price…
Still playing a daily map or two in Final Fantasy Tactics, and feels like I’m not progressing much (end of chapter 2 now). But the FOMO keeps me from moving on too quickly, and every time a new character joins, I want to level up their jobs. Even if you only get to use 5 characters max in a level. I’m enjoying myself, but can’t shake the feeling that the Advance games were a lot more engaging and fun.
I also finished watching the second season of The Last of Us, and man, that TV-show is amazing and handles the source material so well. I was so hooked on it that I also watched all the special Blu-ray making-of videos and learned a lot of insights. Don’t skip on this great adaptation, simply because some people make fun of the casting of Ellie.
On Switch, I’ve played some Pokémon Legends Z-A, and I’ve gotta say I’m happily surprised in the gameplay department. It’s a lot more fun than I expected to have real-time battles. The graphics and lack of voice acting, on the other hand. It’s a shame to see the most valuable franchise on the planet receive such low (in comparison) development budgets.
On the Steam Deck, I finished Spilled! (again!) and started playing Katanaut and Thank Goodness You’re Here.
Most interesting news of this week: I just bought myself a Steam Deck!
Looking forward to playing: More Final Fantasy Tactics and Pokémon Legends Z-A.

My week has been fairly quiet in terms of gaming. The only real time I’ve put into a game is the “soon to be released” Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake Collection (a mouthful, I know) that releases on October 30th. My review for both games will be live on that day, so make sure to check back in then if you are interested in finding out more.
What I will say for now is, much like the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, it is simply a stunning reimagining of the original two games, with added modern features, especially the lighting, which results in a very bright and visually impressive presentation.
The final game I’ve played this week is the recently released R V There Yet, a game about taking your RV Camper Van and driving through the American Midwest while avoiding traps, harsh terrain, and wildlife. It’s the latest release in the wave of “friend slop” genre games (although I hate that term) that resemble things like Lethal Company, Pilgrim, and YAP YAP.
While driving, you will need to keep special attention on the health of your vehicle. Repeated damage can result in side panels, wheels, the roof, the front, and the items stored inside to come flying off and get damaged. You have two trusty winches to use to navigate the harshest of terrain. One at the front, and one at the back. Throwing the front one up to a buddy, for example, can mean winching yourself up literally vertical landslides in an effort to get out of sticky situations, and likewise, the reverse can be used to pull yourself out of pot holes, mud, and rockslides.
It supports voice chat and is a great little game to just blow off steam with your friends. I highly recommend it.
Most interesting news of this week: Robby bought a Steam Deck!
Looking forward to playing: More R V There Yet, & Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake.

This week I played more Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which has still been a fantastic game, despite me having a black screen issue, which I managed to fix thanks to other people experiencing the same issue.
Other than that, I’ve played some BALL x PIT, which has been pretty fun. I completed the first area with the 4 characters I have unlocked, and tried the second area a few times, no success yet though.
I tried starting the original Gears of War with my girlfriend, but she wasn’t really into it, so we started Unravel Two instead.
Finally, I played Sonic Racing Crossworlds with friends again. This time, only an hour, as I got tired of it pretty soon.
Most interesting news of this week: Halo being announced for PlayStation 5, it’s unbelievable to see Xbox completely giving up on exclusivity, not sure if it’s a good thing, as PlayStation isn’t doing the same with their biggest franchises.
Looking forward to playing: More Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and maybe going back to BALL x PIT.

I have been playing Deconstruction Simulator this week. What a great simulation game in which you destroy walls or, most of the time, complete houses. So satisfying to see them fall down like they are made of cardboard!
I’m also busy playing through Tattoo Tycoon. A tycoon game in which you build an empire of Tattoo shops. It is great and has so much story attached to it.
And I started playing Walk of Life. This feels a bit like “the game of life” in board game form. I love the previous game from this team, No Time to Relax, and this is a great addition to their portfolio. It is so much fun and I can’t wait to play more.
Most interesting news of this week: Microsoft is pushing Xbox to make a 30% profit margin.
Looking forward to playing: More Walk of Life and Space Chef.

Although not this week, last weekend, I dove into Ninja Gaiden 4 and wow, what a blast! The visuals are absolutely stunning, the soundtrack is pure adrenaline, and the gameplay feels tighter and more fluid than ever. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, this one’s a must-play. I break it all down in my full review, check it out [HERE]
I’ve also been jumping into Battlefield 6. So far, I’ve only tackled Conquest, teaming up online with a friend and switching from Recon to Engineer. Every battle feels fresh, unpredictable, and downright thrilling, exactly what keeps me hooked.
On top of that, I’ve reviewed Hot Wheels: Let’s Race Ultimate Speed, and the link to this can be found [HERE]. This high-octane racer, inspired by the hit Netflix series, is perfect for younger gamers. It features multiple game modes, along with all your favourite characters and cars from the show.
Most interesting news of this week: EA has announced Battlefield 6 Season 1, launching October 28, with new maps, vehicles, and weapons. Blackwell Fields features helicopters, tanks, and the Traverser Mark 2, while suburban maps add golf carts.
Looking forward to playing: Simon the Sorcerer Origins, Battlefield 6 and Bounty Star.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
