Eyes on the Week (19th-23rd September)

Time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!

We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I have really ‘gamed’ this week as I’ve been occupied with more important things at home. I did play more Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R and have started being able to beat some of the harder levels which I am pretty pleased about. I have managed to keep my achievement streak going on TrueAchievements with the help of Plague Inc: Evolved as well. If I’m honest, I’ve spent most of my free time watching Yu-Gi-Oh! on Crunchyroll.

Most exciting news of this week: It goes without saying that seeing we’re starting to do reviews for films and TV series here at LifeisXbox! Plus, seeing the new gameplay trailer and some people playing the short preview of Scorn has me even more hyped for its release next month.

Looking forward to playing: I can’t see myself playing much in the near future but if I manage to get in some game time, it will have used to play more Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R and Justice Sucks.

Lots of time went into Deathloop, what a brilliant game! So many new mechanics that simply work and give the player a good time. Literally had a shitload of review games to play too, which you will be able to read this and next week.

Most exciting news of this week: Lifeisxbox officially started with series and movie reviews. Looking forward to reading those from our team.

Looking forward to playing: Just one word for you, Deathloop. And yeah, Ni no Kuni too!

I’m on holiday in Spain with my 91-year-old grandfather so I didn’t get to game all that much. But I did beat Pokémon Sword at 12km high in the sky (airplane) so there is that! But most of my time was spent making sure he gets to create some memories here, as it was his biggest wish to see Lloret de Mar again.

Most exciting news of this week: The GTA VI leak. Even though I don’t care about the game, it’s been weird to see how people handle early game footage and expect it to look much better. And then there is the news of a big streamer creating his own publishing company and assuming he knows how to handle everything. (I truly hope he does and no indies get screwed in the process)

Looking forward to playing: When I get home, I’ll be looking to try out Deathloop as I have heard so many great things about it.

This week I indulged my inner child by playing tons of Splatoon 3. The full review is now up and you can read it [HERE]. With each new class I play as, I realise more and more how addictive this game can be. It’s super fun! I also continued playing through the latest event in Hunt: Showdown where I have been raking in kills in PVP. I’ve gotten too good at this game that I need to try some other shooters soon. Finally, I decided to pick up and try Predator Hunting Grounds since Sony were having a sale on Steam. The premise is the same as any Predator movie, except the gameplay mechanics are akin to Dead By Daylight. 4 survivors who have to carry out objectives whilst being hunted by a Predator. Despite there being quite a few asymmetrical horror action games these days, I still feel like they are enjoyable, especially with friends.

Most exciting news of this week: Hideo Kojima teaming up with NASA to bring new gaming merch to his ever-growing portfolio of ideas.

Looking forward to playing: More Hunt Showdown & of course Modern Warfare 2 Beta.

Unfortunately, this week I didn’t get to play anything at all. I did play Chenso ClubOverwatch, and Dead by Daylight on the weekend though.

Most exciting news of this week: LifeisXbox starting with the movies/series reviews is something I’m excited about.

Looking forward to playing: Dyna Bomb 2 and Cube Farmer for my upcoming reviews. If I get the time I’ll play GTA IV and/or Dead by Daylight.

I’ve had a rather active week in gaming this time around, but some things barely change. I’m still quite engrossed in Final Fantasy XIV‘s Stormblood expansion. I’ve unlocked the Sage job which I wanted to main ever since I learned of it. I’ll hold off slightly on playing it until my other jobs have caught up xp-wise. Furthermore, I also played Time on Frog Island, an incredibly charming game I’ll be reviewing in the not-too-distant future. I also played some Sea of Thieves, hoping to this time find a crew that’ll play at least semi-consistently, yet also on my level so to speak. I’ve been taken along for the ride on pirate legend’s ships before, but they go over stuff so quickly I can barely keep up most of the time. And lastly, I’ve been watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners which made me restart my V. in Cyberpunk 2077. I’m still in the prologue though.

Most exciting news of this week: Technically this happened last week, but the GTA 6 leaks were massive news for me. We had it confirmed it was in active development but this made it feel all the more real. I feel bad for Rockstar it leaked, but gobbled it up all the same.

Looking forward to playing: Sea of Thieves and Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, I’ll be making a David Martinez build, just like the rest who watched Edgerunners.
