It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

Discounty has been my addiction game this week; I just can’t stop going back to it! It is a game I’m reviewing, so you can expect to see it sometime next week. It’s all about running ‘Discounty’ – a small supermarket in a small harbour town on Blomkest. I don’t want to write too much about it here, but I will let you in on a little secret – It’s got a pretty convincing thumbs up from me so far!
Overwatch 2 has got me excited for Season 19 with both Illari and Ana getting new skins! Also, I’m interested in seeing the perk changes for Moira, Illari and Lucio as the changes may affect what I choose going forward. I also decided to play a couple of competitive games while drives are active, and they went surprisingly well, but I can’t see myself getting a drive before they finish on Sunday, as I mostly play quick play; I’ll just settle for the 500 competitive points if possible.
I also started Life is Strange: Double Exposure, but I’ve only played the first chapter at this moment in time. It’s not gripped my attention quite as much as other games in the series, but I know there is still plenty more to play and uncover, which I’ll do over the weekend and into next week.
Most interesting news of this week: Everyone is excited for Hollow Knight: Silksong, but I’m more interested in the ROG Xbox Ally X getting a release date of October 16th! I still haven’t decided on whether it will be a day-one purchase or not.
Looking forward to playing:

I’m at gamescom all week, so I’ve been playing a ton of cool new games. From AA-AAA stuff like Cronos: the New Dawn and Metal Gear Solid Delta to indies such as Recur, OPUS, Gunboat God, Swan Song, and many, many more.
[HERE] is a preview of the Cronos: The New Dawn demo, and [HERE] is a list of the first few indies I wanted to share some more of.
Most interesting news of this week: Silksong finally has a release date…
Looking forward to playing: Cronos: The New Dawn (the full version)

I’m still playing OFF for my upcoming review, and it’s been a very interesting game. It’s definitely worth it to give it a try, you’ll be able to read more about it soon.
I’ve started playing Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, and it’s feeling a lot like a Star Wars game. The dogfights, robots, laser weapons and other sci-fi elements are actually welcome and make it stand out against most of the other COD games.
I played the usual Baldur’s Gate 3 with friends, and I’m pretty sure we’re one session away from finishing it, after about a year and a half since we started it. I also played a little bit of Neon Abyss for Xbox Game Pass quest reasons again; it’s quite a fun game.
Most interesting news of this week: Hollow Knight Silksong now has a release date.
Looking forward to playing: More OFF, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, Neon Abyss, and Baldur’s Gate 3.

I started off the week by playing some more Monster Mop Up and finishing the last few achievements. I was quite lucky to have one achievement already that got bugged with the launch update. So I could even unlock all the achievements. I still loved Monster Mop Up, but I hope the developers will be able to fix all the bugs, as there are quite a lot.
I have been craving some incremental games lately, and while they feel like time wasters, they can also be so addictive and so much fun. I played Keep On Mining this week, a great incremental game.
Another fun game I got to play is The Girl from Arkanya. If you love 2D Zelda-style games, this is the game for you! It comes with a great story and also has a lot of quality-of-life features like teleporting, sell all, and more like that.
And the last part of the week I dived deeply into Worldwide Rush. I completely lost sense of time while playing this game. And while it is missing some quality-of-life features, it is highly addictive, with another small task always just seconds away from you.
Most interesting news of this week: A release date for Hollow Knight Silksong! And more surprisingly, how soon it is! 4 September feels just around the corner.
Looking forward to playing: I’ll be diving into Luma Island.

I started the week playing Mario Kart World online. Knockout Tour is my go-to mode, and I’ve been trying to beat my 5th-place record. I’m really enjoying everything the game has to offer while also getting familiar with the Switch 2 console. I also picked up the Switch 2 Pro controller, which is really nice and feels even more comfortable to use.
I’m still having a blast with Killing Floor 3. It recently got a new update that fixed some issues I had, like jumpy frame rates and visual glitches, which is great to see.
I also played and completed Death Lives, a single-player survival horror game based on Aztec mythology. My review will be coming very soon!
Most interesting news of this week: The Rogue Prince of Persia: An action-platformer roguelite, it was shadow-dropped onto Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the opening day of Gamescom.
Looking forward to playing: Killing Floor 3, Mario Kart World, Mario Odyssey and some Drag x Drive.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
