It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? and what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions!
We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

This week, I’ve mostly been testing demos for INDIGO as part of the jury. The event takes place at the end of May in Rotterdam, and there is also an award for best game of the show, and I’m proud that I can contribute to the decision, playing over 20 different games by the end of the month.
On Xbox, I beat Leila, which Benny reviewed for LifeIsXbox. A nice and short (2.5h) narrative puzzle game of a woman coming to terms with where her future is headed. I have to admit I needed the “hint” button on almost every single puzzle though…
And I also beat Pilo and the Holobook in two sittings, a cosy and colourful indiegame about scanning stuff and turning them into stickers. check my Review [HERE]
On Switch, I’ve rediscovered Final Fantasy Theathrythm, which still ranks in my top 5 games ever. combining rhythm games with my favourite videogame series is just a surefire recipe for success…
Most interesting news of this week: I’ve just added the 200th game to the list of Belgian Games on Steam!
Looking forward to playing: I’m totally in love with [REDACTED] and will be playing this for weeks to come. GOTY for me and it won’t be close.

This week I spent most of my time finishing up Monster Hunter Wilds & also Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Both fantastic games. I only tried out a little bit of the new content drop for Monster Hunter, but now I plan to move on to other games in my backlog.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was quite impressive, with some genuinely well thought out missions & story branches. You can tell that Kill Bill has been a rather large inspiration to Shadows given how it presents itself in some areas along with it’s choice of music. That was very pleasant to see.
An honourable mention before I get on with the rest, but I did manage to pick up Star Wars Outlaws on PS5 for £9.99 this week, which will undoubtedly keep me busy for the next few weeks until my Nintendo Switch 2 gets delivered.
All that aside though, I finally started Bokeh Studios first game, Slitterhead. Interestingly it was made by a few of the original Silent Hill developers, Team Silent. It’s not exactly a traditional horror game in the sense that it’s creepy & atmospheric, as it contains some RPG elements that compliment it’s combat. So far, it’s okay, but I was expecting something different given it’s trailer a few years back.
Most interesting news of this week: US Switch 2 delays. Are we going to see the price increase across the US territories?
Looking forward to playing: Slitterhead.

I didn’t have much game time this week, and during the time I had, I played mostly Crashlands 2. What an awesome survival game with so many quality-of-life features. For example, loot you get close to gets automatically looted, and there is no limit on how much loot you carry, no hunger meter, and no thirst meter. It is a survival game where the main focus really is the story, and I love it.
I also played Sunset Motel. This is a typical (job) simulator game in which you run a motel. You check in guests, bring them their luggage, serve them food, and wash their clothes while also renovating news rooms so you can have more guests at the same time and thus earn more income. I really enjoyed this one. It isn’t too long and a lot of fun, with quests that show you the ropes of all you can do.
Most interesting news of this week: So many amazing new titles revealed during the Showcase last week. But my favorite news related thing this week was the speech Ben Starr gave when Balatro won a Bafta Award. It felt in style for how crazy the game is and I love that the publisher Playstack can handle the playful banter. (I also love how Ben Starr promoted a new MtG set and Balatro’s Twitter account mentioned that he is cheating with “other” cards. I really love this banter that is going on!)
Looking forward to playing: Not sure yet what I’ll be playing this Easter weekend. Thinking about Stray or Eternal Strands.

This week, I’ve been busy playing Beyond The Ice Palace 2 — you can read my review [HERE]
I’ve also been spending time with Leila, a point-and-click puzzle game. I can tell the developers have poured everything into this one. Check out my review [HERE]
Mullet Madjack, which I reviewed last week, has also stayed on my playlist as I try to beat some of the higher difficulties. It’s been challenging but still loads of fun. I’ve yet to see the joke weapon pop up in my upgrade selection — it’s required for an achievement I’m chasing.
Most interesting news of this week: The Xbox Games Showcase has been announced for June 8, with Xbox promising updates on upcoming titles. There will also be a follow-up event — The Outer Worlds 2 Direct — taking place immediately afterwards.
Looking forward to playing: South of Midnight and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which arrives on my Birthday.
Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
