It’s time to look back on the week we’ve just had! What did the weekdays look like for our writers? What was the biggest news from the week? And what are we looking forward to playing during the upcoming weekend? Our Eyes on the Week article will answer all three of these questions! We’re curious about your opinion and played games, so be sure to share your stuff on our social media channels!

I’ve been pretty tired, stressed, and have had numerous migraine attacks this week, which has made playing a little harder this week. Overwatch has been my go-to, as per usual, and we currently have the Summer Games active. I would like to get the achievements related to Lucioball, but I didn’t find the mode all that fun, so we’ll see if I manage any. Otherwise, the games were alright. Not too much to complain or write home about.
Lewis and I are determined to complete the remaining achievements in RV There Yet?, which does require a playthrough of both maps again to get all the cosmetics and cassettes. I’m really not looking forward to doing the second map again, but it’s got to be done. Hopefully, it’ll all be wrapped up by the next weekly article.
I started Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, which was released on Wednesday, on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass. Sadly, I haven’t been able to put as much time into the game as I would have hoped due to bugs and crashing, making it impossible for me to progress past Day 9 in campaign mode or play Endless mode. I know the developers are currently working on a fix for multiple issues, so I look forward to playing more once able.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox has its Ultimate Game Sale 2026 currently active.
Looking forward to playing: Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, Overwatch, and RV There Yet?

I’ve beaten The Last Case of John Morley and Welcome To Kowloon, and I have to admit it’s nice beating a game in such a short amount of time and unlocking all achievements along the way. I might play some more short horror games like this soon!
On Nintendo Switch, I’ve finally had my fill of Rhythm Paradise Groove, and I’m left with a few earworms that will take months to get rid of. These music + sound effects are just too damn catchy. You can read my full review [HERE]
I’ve also been playing a ton of demos on Steam: MyDear.exe is an emotional FakeOS/cosy game with some nice minigames inside, and I’m already looking forward to the full release. Allogloom is a hand-drawn point-and-click with a sinister horror story mixed in. It’s been a while since I enjoyed a point-and-click like this. And Stip is a Belgian-made puzzle game about numbers that also has some darker sides to it, that I’d rather not spoil. Just go play it yourself, or watch my video on it.
Lastly, I’ve been playing Helix: Descent N Ascent on the Steam Deck. Another Belgian puzzle game, but this one plays more like a top-down Zelda. Or perhaps Tunic is a better comparison. But that hand-drawn black & white style is super distinct and gorgeous on my OLED screen. Can’t wait to hear what other people think when it releases on July 23rd.
Most interesting news of the week: My offer to buy Pirate PR was accepted, so that means I’m soon the sole owner of my own company. Finally.
Looking forward to playing: More Helix, I can’t wait to discover all the new ability combos. Such a special game!

I finished replaying Batman: Arkham City, and it was great. I collected everything and did every side objective and even did a few challenge maps, but I don’t believe I’ll be doing them all, as there are quite a few of them, and it’s not easy getting the target high score on them all.
I also dusted off my Nintendo Switch and started playing The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and it has been quite an interesting game, which I’ll eventually finish, but I’ll be playing it slowly, as it is a pretty big game.
I tried Junkster out as my main Xbox Game Pass pick for the week, and it has been a fun and intriguing platformer so far. I played a bit more Tamashika, as it is a pretty good FPS, though I wish there were a regular campaign to play instead of daily levels. I also played some more Minecraft Dungeons and Marvel Rivals with friends again, as well as Absolum.
Finally, I started replaying LEGO Batman, as part of my Bat-marathon, and it’s quite interesting remembering how LEGO games used to be and how much they’ve changed through the years.
Most interesting news of the week: Bethesda have confirmed Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas Remasters are in production.
Looking forward to playing: More LEGO Batman, Marvel Rivals, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Junkster and whatever else I can fit into my routine.

I finished playing through DOOM: The Dark Ages: Revelations for my review [HERE]. It felt great to be back playing, with plenty of demon-slaying and puzzle-solving along the way. The new Chain Spear weapon is a fantastic addition, adding even more variety to the gameplay.
I also completed Welcome to Kowloon, which I finished in one sitting. You play as a student moving into some cheap accommodation in a run-down, derelict apartment building, but things don’t quite go to plan. It’s a horror walking simulator that builds tension with an unsettling atmosphere and well-timed jump scares. I’ve covered my thoughts in a tidbit-style review [HERE]
I also started playing Teeto, a new 3D platformer on the Nintendo Switch 2. You play as Teeto, a blob created by Nory, a bunny who rides on your back in a backpack. Teeto can absorb certain objects and transform into new forms, which are used to solve puzzles and traverse the world. Look out for my review, coming soon.
Finally, I’ve been playing Denshattack!, which I’ve been eagerly anticipating, and I must say it’s everything I hoped for and more. You control a train carriage that can grind along rails, perform tricks, and complete objectives across each level. The vibrant visuals immediately reminded me of Jet Set Radio, while the gameplay feels like a cross between classics such as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Crazy Taxi, and a 3D Sonic game. Racing along the twisting tracks genuinely feels like riding a rollercoaster, adding to the sense of speed and excitement. The action is fast and frantic, and once the controls become second nature, you’ll be ready to take on whatever obstacles the game throws your way, with new gameplay mechanics steadily introduced to keep things fresh.
Most interesting news of the week: Xbox Ultimate Game Sale 2026 has arrived, featuring discounts on thousands of games across the Xbox library.
Looking forward to playing: Teeto and Star Ocean The Second Story R (Switch 2).

I am currently OBSESSED with Palworld. I know, everyone else is too. But the game is a creature collecting meets survival masterpiece. The idea that you can run an automated base while you explore with your Pals is just icing on the cake.
A huge surprise this week was Denshattack!. The game is a nice combo-based, Jet Set Radio play style that is so much fun to jump into. Imagine all of that, but it is a TRAIN that you are using to do it all with. Grind rails, score combos, go crazy. I love it.
Another really huge surprise is Pathogenic. This indie is just a ton of fun and customisation to a very hard-to-stand-out genre. I love building my own bug and seeing how I can spread the love around.
Most interesting news of the week: SCRAP MECHANIC IS GETTING A BIG UPDATE! YES YES YES!
Looking forward to playing: Guildrun (amazing new auto battler), Palworld, Oaken Tower, and Scrap Mechanic.

Hello, I’m Victoria. I’m from the UK and have been playing video games for as long as I can remember; back on DreamCast. I’ve pretty much fallen for Xbox since I was around eight years old and remember BioShock being my first game on the Xbox360. Although I find it thoroughly enjoyable to not only experience gameplay, I also find comfort in getting lost and engrossed in the online worlds that sometimes differ greatly from what we know. Another side of my Xbox passion would be achievement hunting and gamerscore. I thrive when I hear the little sound of one popping up on the screen and I’m always finding ways to work on my backlog when possible. Horror is my favourite genre so if you have any recommendations, don’t be afraid to send them my way!
